Arazel Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I dont see why this would be a bad idea. -He has an average Fulham side playing very well-Has a lot of experience in different leagues around europe.-Has big team management experience from Italy.-He wouldnt be the most expensive manager to buy out. I vote Roy. Convince me otherwise.

5InIstanbul Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 f*** off Cant really see the point in the topic going any further to be honest!
matty Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Good manager. We could do a lot worse given the players don't respond to our current manager.
johngibo YPC Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Good manager. We could do a lot worse given the players don't respond to our current manager. I don't think they would particualrly respond well to himI would imagine the likes of Torres and Gerrard being pretty underwhelmed if he was the new managerWe need a bigger personality than him. Its a huge job right now the Liverpool one. Really toughRafa is a better manager than him, and even he is struggling to do it Plus we should be looking for a younger man that Roy Hodgson
Arazel Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 He's not a better manager than what we have at the minute. Conversely I wouldnt say hes any worse. Definitely has a lot more experience around europe than Benitez and is having a better season than Benitez. Not that that is enough of a reason in itself to want him but it is definitely a factor. Add in that a) he wont be too expensive to free from Fulham, and b) He prefers a far more entertaining style than Rafa, and I dont see why its a bad move at all.
Hobbsie Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I'm waiting for the dream ticket of Keegan, Barnes and McAteer
fyds Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 f*** offAs much as I think Roy is a good guy - can't argue with that

Benitez has reached three European finals and won two of them, semis and quarters all the while and you reckon Hodgson has more...ah never mind.
CarraLegend Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I dont see why its a bad move at all. He's in his 60s, he's managed 1 big club in his whole life and even then they arent the biggest club in Italy, he's not exactly got an astonishing history, Fulham's away record since he's been there is absolutely f***ing horrific, the players wouldnt respond to him after a summer linked to Mourinho and co. Theres loads of reasons why its a s*** move. He's not very good being the main one.

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Good manager. We could do a lot worse given the players don't respond to our current manager.'could do worse' there's a ringing endorsement
Hassony Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Good manager. We could do a lot worse given the players don't respond to our current manager. Inter fans want him back? Hodgson is probably the same level as Houllier

CarraLegend Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Ageism at its finest. What age is Ferguson? Then take the age comment out. Theres still loads of other reasons not to get him. And Ferguson was in his 40s when he took the job not his 60s.

If he had Ferguson's trophy cabinet we might let his age goFerguson is just keeping it going now anyway. I doubt he could be bothered going to a new club and starting again Edited March 25, 2010 by johngibo YPC
David Hodgson Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 He's not a better manager than what we have at the minute. Yes he is. He's makng a s*** set of players play well, whereas our manager is getting little out of top class players. I accept this may not always be the case, but Hodgson is no flash in the pan. Inter fans want him back? Hodgson is probably the same level as Houllier Pretty successful on modest resources you mean ? Sounds great.
Arazel Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 At last some sense has prevailed. If only someone else could recognise that we will have limited funds for a) securing a new manager and b) transfers, then perhaps the idea of Roy would seem far more logical.
fred milne Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 So he's having a better season, has a more stable ownership, has had less serious injuries and hasn't won two la liga titles, an FA Cup, a worthington cup, two super cups and a Champions League - you're right, clearly.Has Rafa?

No way DH, Rafa may be having a s**** season but he has already achieved more than Hodgson has. You're letting this season cloud your judgement.
