What are the top three positions we need to strengthen this summer? Please do not focus on the amount of money available to the manager.

 

Personally I think we need big changes both to the defensive and offensive side of our game. I ended up with the following 3 but it is difficult to pick because I really think we also need a new centre half as well.

2. Left back

3. Winger

10 massive central defenders and centre mids who can score goals with their heads from corners, and kick teams to smithereens. You need 10 because of all the suspensions.

In terms of players who are good enough to start week in week out we have

 

Reina

Johnson

Mascherano - if he stays

Gerrard

Torres

 

and arguably Carragher and Agger are our first choice CB pairing although both have been below par this season

 

So we need to prioritise starting XI players in the other positions

 

1. A midfielder

2. A left back

3. A wide player with pace

4. An aerially dominant centre back

Insua will be the only left back at the club if no one is signed.

Centre back required to help the whole side improve. Without a pacey, aerially dominant centre back then we'll always be on the back foot with the current midfield.

Yeah, centre back has to be the priority for me. I know left back is a weak spot for us but we need to build from a solid base and we haven't had that this season, it has had a knock on effect on everywhere else.
