BG Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Had a good week. The consensus seems to be that he's a bit useful. Good Sid Lowe Article.
lfc003 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 The consensus seems to be that he's a bit useful. Unless your Phil Thompson who thinks Messi is having a "poor season" and questioned Paul Merson's claim that Messi is the best player in the world by saying Wayne Rooney is "streets ahead".
lfc003 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Oh and 79 goals from 129 games is Championship Manager like stats, Ridiculous!!!
Hassony Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 rooney, drogba and arshavin are all better according to darren gough
Hassony Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 yes, he doesn't rate you he even said once that Kahnee was funnier than you
Benzo-13 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 (edited) Messi's the last hope for good in football this season.. Edited March 22, 2010 by Benzo-13
BG Posted March 22, 2010 Author Posted March 22, 2010 Anyone who's not seen the goals against Valencia last week, Stuttgart on Wednesday and Zaragoza on Saturday is in for a treat. There's at least one outrageous goal in each game.
surf Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 yes, he doesn't rate you he even said once that Kahnee was funnier than you ouch
Nebraska Red Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 the lad's a marvel and if he's lucky, he's got years ahead of him. he gets protected well by the refs in Spain, but he has so much skill he hardly needs it. his 2 jinks for his 2nd goal yesterday were amazing. the ball looked like it was really was stuck to his boots.
doug_mac Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 best player since zidane retired his second goal at the weekend was the best goal i've seen this season
Hassony Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 best player since zidane retired his second goal at the weekend was the best goal i've seen this season will be better than zidane before long IMO

stressederic Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Crikey, and hes what 23? If Thommo said Rooney was 'streets ahead' he needs to get out more. Messi is 22. It's nuts, I don't understand how he does half the stuff to begin with. f*** knows how good he'll be at 28 or 29.
Diarmuid Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 will be better than zidane before long IMO I think he already is.
muleskinner Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 will be better than zidane before long IMO Different kind of player, Zidane is 2nd only to Maradona IMO, and not that far behind him. Its easy to forget just how much he achieved in football, he won absolutely everything. Messi is the best around at the moment and he is fantastic to watch plus he seems like a decent lad.
Hassony Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 I think he already is. probably, will be for definite after the world cup to be honest, I would have C Ronaldo and Pacheco ahead of zidane too
Stevie H Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 how soon people forget quite how good zidane was. ronaldo's not fit to lick zizou's boots.
Owen1978 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Even we had messi in our team, It still wouldn'y be enough to improve us, they play to his strengths and let him attack - if we had him he would be made to track back!
Swipe Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 how soon people forget quite how good zidane was. ronaldo's not fit to lick zizou's boots. Ronaldo's excellent, but alot of his strength is just that - pace and power. Zidane had far, far more subtlety and intelligence. A genuine genius.
Hassony Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 how soon people forget quite how good zidane was. ronaldo's not fit to lick zizou's boots. of course your view has nothing to do with who Ronaldo used to play for
Damian_de Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Ronaldo's excellent, but alot of his strength is just that - pace and power. Zidane had far, far more subtlety and intelligence. A genuine genius. And he had to, because he was like a throw back in terms of his physical play - a real player to join the old football with the new.
