Andy @ Allerton Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Good player. Done well for the club. Utterly disinterested now. Bye Bye. £30M Some players in. No brainer surely.
Epic Swindle Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 30 mill could buy us another defensive winger or two. I'm game.
BG Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Jesus Christ. Look At Me in excelsis. Well, it seems there was a vacancy (or two) for this role on this forum...
dl2009 Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Yes, Gerrard has to go..... on a holiday to a warm country, given intensive physio therapy and perhaps recover from the overuse of cortisone injections by our medical staff.
Benzo-13 Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Wow, just wow.. This'll make the forum look brill.
Cunny Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 just posted this in the match thread: I suppose the question is whether this is just a poor season for Gerrard or a now inevitable decline after over ten years lung bursting effort? He does not seem to have the pace and power of old. He's getting dispossessed on the ball a lot more often. It would be a braver man than I to write him off and sell him.
Sion Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 In theory selling Gerrard would raise more than what we sold him for because of his what, £7m a year massive wages? We can't afford to take the risk but I wouldn't be overly bothered if he wanted to leave and we could get £30m. Wouldn't actively sell him, mind.

Bootle Buck Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 The sad problem is the rest of our midfield feel the need to have to give the ball to Gerrard everytime we advance. Unfortunately as of late he is the worst culprit for just giving it away. Therefore many of our forrays forward end with him. Too many of our players lack in confidence to take it directly to goal themselves.
Epic Swindle Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I thought this was a joke. Pretty sad to see the knife going into one of our legends after an indifferent season, in which he's struggled with injuries. Who needs enemies eh.

Hassony Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 we should have asked city for £20m for carragher in the summer
richwilks Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 What worries me most is that his body language seems to suggest he's not interested. He's certainly not got that same aura he did have and I wonder how much of that is down to the fact he's considering his future again. Really poor today, he doesn't seem to be able to shift the ball and hit it at the moment, he used to be so quick at doing that but he's getting caught in posession now.

How many games have been played?
BG Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Correct. Not sure I follow. If you're agreeing with that poster you seem to be saying Gerrard should go because the rest of our midfield don't have the confidence to take more responsibility themselves: ie we should get rid of the player that the other players look to to make something happen.
Epic Swindle Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Unfortunately as of late he is the worst culprit for just giving it away. Nowhere near. Get him the ball and more often than not he makes things happen.
Andy @ Allerton Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 Nowhere near. Get him the ball and more often than not he makes things happen. Get a copy of all our latest game. Obain a notepad. Obtain a Pen, Write down every time he gives it away. Prepare to be astonished,.
John am Rhein Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 should take the 30 million and invest it in a new generation of up-and-coming referees this is obviously what modern football's about
Andy @ Allerton Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 should take the 30 million and invest it in a new generation of up-and-coming referees this is obviously what modern football's about Sadly yes.

So we should just ignore all the good things he does and knitpick over a few loose passes? All players give the ball away, ours more than most. What's their excuse?
