Are we one better bid (than the Rhone one) away from the dawning of a Mourinho era ? A big leap, but I would f*cking 'love it' if he came here, and I say that regardless of whether or not we win our next 10 games. Edited March 21, 2010 by David Hodgson
Damian_de Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Seems to me that 'story' backs up what a lot of people think. Yes, he would be interested if the conditions were completely different. But let's face it, it also contains statements like 'Benitez is expected to leave in the summer'. Is he? By whom?

deacon Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Don't want that classless pr1ck anywhere near our team. Did you hear him go on the other day about the "non-goal" from the 2005 semi final the other day? N0b.

ozmick Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Myself, I just want a manager who will win the league, but is the 'the special ones' style of play any different from Rafa's? A bit on the conservative side?
Earl Hafler Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I can't stand the circus that transpires whenever he gives a press conference. Glad he's not been in the Premiership recently and i've been hoping he'd have signed Drogba by now
Andy @ Allerton Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 (edited) I would love it because I'm skint and really could do with gibbing the football. Totted it up the other day and in an average season with every home game, some Cup aways, some Europe aways and some league aways - plus flights/hotels/ale/curry/taxis etc I spend around £5000-£7000. If he comes then I'll be paying off my loan two years early Edited March 21, 2010 by The Angry Moose

But let's face it, it also contains statements like 'Benitez is expected to leave in the summer'. Is he? By whom? It seems likely that conditions will be different. How different we don't know. i'd have said 'and yes, it's a news of the world story but. . .' personally dave. ..and if I'd have said that, someone would have said 'typical Bascombe bullsh*t'. Does anybody not know he writes for NOTW ?
Stevie H Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 ..and if I'd have said that, someone would have said 'typical Bascombe bullsh*t'. Does anybody not know he writes for NOTW ?not what i was getting at really dave. just that by being from the NOTW it's fictional b*llocks by default, whether it's bylined to an ex-echo journalist or not. no quotes, no sources, no nothing but unfounded rumour and gossip.
Igors Uncle Dave Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Nothing would make me happier now that to see the special one at Anfield - I hated him with a vengance, but to see the tables turned and him as manager of the club, it would do for me!
meredithmathieson Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 And with one fell swoop, the Holy Trinity would be reduced to the Holy Ego. No thanks.
Hightown Phil Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 So basically, he'll come if we're in a different way off the pitch. Amazing.
Stevie H Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 So basically, he'll come if we're in a different way off the pitch. Amazing.the mail on sunday is running with 'redknapp would consider kop hot seat if there were bundles of cash available'.

They're given a royal telephone conversation recording as a gift if they can come up with a quote Makes me laugh when they have pictures of an actress / celebrity and accompany it with the quote " ' She looked gorgeous - i'd certainly take her of < insert boyfriends name > 's hands ! ' said an onlooker " when it was probably the bloody photographer who said it.
yellow jumper Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 it's fine, you don't need much money to sign jiri jarosik, sulley muntari and paolo ferreira these days.
Falconhoof Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 So basically, he'll come if we're in a different way off the pitch. Amazing. and as there's £100m due to the bank, which can't be extended or delayed, we will be in a different way off the pitch. We are unlikely to finish in the top 4 and you could say that Rafa, by guaranteeing that, will have made his position untenable if we fail to qualify for European football next season.Put all the pieces together and its not that unlikely that we'll all be lining up behind the banner of Jose Mourinho in a few months. (apart from Andy, who hardly ever mentions that he'd pack in football altogether)It could all hinge on whether Rafa delivers his promise of 4th, if we win today then there's a chance we can crawl our way out of this pit of despond and have another go next season.

That's too simplistic. The tabs are littered with fabrications, but sometimes they're also littered with 'planted' stories. By whom, and to what purpose is the interesting question.
Hightown Phil Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Yeah we'll be in a different way alright, a worse way. We thought it wasn't possible, but if the Rhone group get involved, Christ.
Falconhoof Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Yeah we'll be in a different way alright, a worse way. We thought it wasn't possible, but if the Rhone group get involved, Christ. Why Phil. £100m less bank debt ? Whats worse ? Not saying you are wrong, I just don't think we know enough about Rhone, their intentions and what the effect of that reduction in bank debt would be.
David Hodgson Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 Yeah we'll be in a different way alright, a worse way. We thought it wasn't possible, but if the Rhone group get involved, Christ. How would it be worse Phil ?

By whom, and to what purpose is the interesting question.absolutely, there are loads of planted stories. i do it for a living. if this were something placed by mourinho's people though i'd sack them for planting a story which can easily translate to 'mercenary mourinho only prepared to go where the cash is'.
Andy @ Allerton Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 How would it be worse Phil ? That's what people asked when the Yanks were about to take over.
