Well. We’re going to the biggest pit in Football. And we’re playing the most corrupt team in history. It was going to be a tricky game.

But. To make things worse. I have just discovered that the game will be ‘refereed’ by Howard Webb. Yes. Manchester United have one of their very own pet referees in charge.

If you are in any doubt that the league is utterly corrupt then this ‘appointment’ tells you all you need to know.

We might as well not bother taking any players at all – what’s your guess? Definite penalty, sending off in the first 10 minutes anyone? A Shower of yellow cards. Masch will be getting sent off for sure. Rafa sent to the stands?

It’s corrupt idiots like Mason, Bennett, Webb and the like that are making me seriously wonder if it’s worth keeping my season ticket. When the league is decided before a ball is kicked what, really, is the point? I really hope England don’t get anywhere in the World Cup. I would hate a country as corrupt as England (Football-wise) to profit from the game on the International Stage.

Really hoped we'd get Alan Wiley but I'm sure that Sralex has had a word.

That's an opinion you've never aired before Andy. It certainly gives us all food for thought. Thanks for sharing.

As I've been saying for the past few weeks, Webb as England's world cup ref - NOT IN MY NAME.

f***ing right. Get it on facebook. I'll get it on Twitter. Let's stop Webb and start stopping before he starts stopping us on Sunday.

I have hidden this annoyance away for too long. It's about time I stated my opinion on it.

Gerrard is evens.

Yep, and United fans will be saying, "Come on, it was obvious the ref was going to be watching him after Monday night", just like they were saying, "Come on, it was obvious the ref was going to clamp down on backchat in the current climate" for the Mascherano match.

He was the 4th official wasnt he?

I will be interested how it is after what Stevie said about him after the Arsenal game and the handball he didnt give

You know the best way to avoid that then ? No stupid v signs to the ref or clouting opposition players off the ball.

You can argue about Man Utd players getting away with similar throughout the season but that day, Masch was bonkers.

I'd have Torres as favourite to be dismissed.

They'll kick the b****x outta him.

Is the correct answer. although Taggert and Sky will make a point of highlighting Steven's rescent incident's, putting the doubt in Webb mind, though he's bent anyway.

he was screwed by getting booked so early. it was an accident waiting to happen, but the one that he got sent for was the one with most grounds to contest - that it had taken 3 separate kickings off rio "welcome to the english premiership" ferdinand before bennett gave the free-kick to torres. who also got booked for his part in the episode.

No argument to be had; Shrek gets away with it game in game out.

Agree with your point that Masch invited it on himself, but let's have consistency.

Man Utd 4 Liverpool 1

Rooney pen 15, Rooney pen 48, Rooney pen 60, Rooney pen 89.

Gerrard pen 92.

Reina sent off 14, Carragher sent off 47, Gerrard sent off 93.

Mascherano booked 1, Lucas booked 2, Insua booked 3, Johnson booked 4, Carragher booked 8, Agger booked 11.

Vidic booked 91.

We'll get a stoppage time penalty consolation to "even things out"

Posted (edited)

Reina to save all them four penalties.

Edit: Oh...he was sent off!

Cavalieri to save all them 4 penalties. :D
