Nebraska Red Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Europa League - Team news: Aquilani doubtful http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/17032010/58/europa-league-team-news-aquilani-doubtful.html I wonder what Rafa put in his Lucozade bottle!!
Gunga Din Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 is Pacheco about this week? if he is, i'd stick him in instead of the Italian if he doesnt recover
Gunga Din Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I wouldn't start Pacheco in this one. i'd rather Pacheco start than going tback to the 2 holding midfielders situation
FirstDescent Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 i'd rather Pacheco start than going tback to the 2 holding midfielders situation he having played a match today, and scored, i doubt he'll be up for it
Gunga Din Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 he having played a match today, and scored, i doubt he'll be up for it as i said about 3 posts up, if he was about and available i'd play him actually, in saying that, Yossi could come in and replace Alberto
FirstDescent Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 as i said about 3 posts up, if he was about and available i'd play him actually, in saying that, Yossi could come in and replace Alberto yeah id give it to Yossi as well. He has been crap as of late, but I think this could be a good game for him.
Falconhoof Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Are we talking about Yossi playing in the centre of midfield, behind Gerrard ? Has Rafa ever played him there ?I would play him there because you'd hope we'll be pressing Lille right back and going for goals. Yossi has played there for West Ham, and Israel but Rafa has his habits and I can't see him dropping Yossi in there. I think he'll play Lucas and Mascherano again if Aqualini isn't fit.

lfc003 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Judging by Rafa's pre match comments i'm expecting Lucas and Kuyt back in the side and maybe Yossi for Babel
Nebraska Red Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Judging by Rafa's pre match comments i'm expecting Lucas and Kuyt back in the side and maybe Yossi for Babel Of course, why keep a good thing going? If Aquiliani is unfit , I can see Lucas playing, but Kuyt?
MFletcher Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Maxi is ineligible, so someone will have to come in. Benayoun preferably, although he's been pretty poor in recent weeks as well.

David Hodgson Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Are we talking about Yossi playing in the centre of midfield, behind Gerrard ? Has Rafa ever played him there ?I would play him there because you'd hope we'll be pressing Lille right back and going for goals. Yossi has played there for West Ham, and Israel but Rafa has his habits and I can't see him dropping Yossi in there. I think he'll play Lucas and Mascherano again if Aqualini isn't fit. If Aquilani's out, then I'd put Gerrard in centre mid alongside Masch, effectively playing what is now known as 'the Aquilani role'. Torres could then be partnered up front by Benayoun, or, dare I say it, Dirk Kuyt.
fred milne Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Torres could then be partnered up front by Benayoun.I don't think he's ever played Yossi in that role. Even against Portsmouth he preferred to move Maxi up front than use Yossi there.
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I think we'll smash them, really confident about this one.
yellow jumper Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I don't think he's ever played Yossi in that role. Even against Portsmouth he preferred to move Maxi up front than use Yossi there. man utd this season? definitely remember him more central in the second half at least.
Leo No.8 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 (edited) Feel really up for this. Its not the Champions League but we're behind in Europe, we're at Anfield and this is our last chance of a trophy (and a good one). We need to raise the roof, get everyone up for it. If the fans make it a big European night and inspire the players then we will go through, we're almost invincible in that situation and have proven it against much better sides than these. If there's apathy from the supporters or expectation we'll win and go through then Lille have a chance. I'm gettng to the ground early, hopefully there will be some atmosphere building. I honestly believe its partly down to us tonight - lets have a f*cking great night roar them on, stuff these and show Europe we're back. Edited March 18, 2010 by Leo No.8
CarraLegend Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Lets f***ing smash these. Get through this and you suddenly look close to the final. And there might be an extra bonus with Valencia possibly going out. It'll be a good atmosphere and they're bringing 2.5k apparently aswell.
richwilks Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 We're 7/1 with some bookies to win the whole thing. That's pretty good odds.
Coyler Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 We're 7/1 with some bookies to win the whole thing. That's pretty good odds.Hang on till we go 0-1 down this evening.
