Bromage Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Since the SOS decided to go ahead with their poster campaign without involving YNWA, the majority of the contributors have agreed to maintain their investment and trust us to decide what we would like to do for our own campaign. On this basis we want to ask for your input on what YNWA's protest against the owners should be, at a time when our future has never looked so bleak and to our extreme frustration, it could be argued the Mancs seem to be showing us the way to do things properly. So give us your thoughts on what type of protest you would favour and also if you haven't contributed then please think about it again; any amount is OK as we need as much as possible to mount a really effective campaign.
Noel Street Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 (edited) it has to be something within the ground, the stuff that SOS do no matter how admirable or not(depending on your view point), in my opinion just seems too parochial, too local maybe something along the lines of a big black flag like the ones that go across the top of the Kop, no writing just black, surely that wouldn't be too expensive to produce? just thought if black scarfs could be arranged for the kop, maybe a demonstration, throw them onto the pitch behind the goal, delay kick off a bit, that would grab the attention Edited March 12, 2010 by han do jin
dorgie Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Something incorporating honest John McKenna all the way to dishonest Hicks Gillette ?
barnesology Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 The kop being empty for the 1st 10 minutes of the Portsmouth game would be difficult to organise but provide the kind of message that would get global attention and turn up the pressure a notch.
Igors Uncle Dave Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I feel that the only way that the fans could really hit the owners is by non-attendance. I know, I know, many will be against it and I understand the reasons behind it. At the end of the day we all love the club and it is because of that love that we write and debate what is the best for the club. I wish that there was an easy answer but there isnt. The owners know that they are not welcome so telling them is just repeating what they already know. The only sure way that they will listen is when they start to lose money and that means stop attanding and stop buying and putting more money in their pockets. Dont shoot me guys, its just my thoughts as I am at a loss like you all and I just want this nightmare to end. YNWA
Hieronymus Bosch Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 It should involve jumping out of a plane on to the pitch during a televised game. Any volunteers?

Don't think we'll get anywhere near that amount of funds. I feel the message sent out should be towards the other fans rather than the owners, they know by now they're not wanted, I think the message should be along the lines of "what have you done to get rid of them?"

Biggest obstacle we have is too many fans don't know what the problems are. Without turning this into a Rafa thread, I wonder if a change of manager with no upturn in success might wake a few up.

No big name managers wanting to touch the job with a bargepole, leading to the appointment of Mark hughes may wake some people up.
barnesology Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Why bother spending ten grand?. The cheapest way, in monetary terms, of making the most effective protest possible is an empty stadium. If we aren't willing to make a protest by potentially boycotting the games, then we're part of the problem, as we are in part funding and thus supporting the current owners to perpetuate the continuing limbo we are in.
Noel Street Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 i know that the single flag with that sort of design would be expensive, but how much would it cost for example to hand everybody in the kop a piece of black cardboard before they went in? would there be issues with stewards before though? the flag i was thinking of would just be a big black piece of material no designs or anything
johngibo YPC Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 We all lashed in for a billboard. So do a billboardJust do a better one than the SOS one. The Hicks or Gillett one with the quote is the best idea There is no point talking about boycotts or stuff in here. Its about what to do with the money raised. Unless you wanna pay people 50p not to go
Red2Core Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 the only way to get these f**kers is to empty the ground.Or option B hitman

Bogman Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Yeah a more hard hitting billboard than the SOS one we should go for. Show their lies rather than call them liars. Yes, something more catchy. A couple of points touched on here today, either an empty ground, with only the away fans in it, or an empty Kop, ................. or constant flag flying/singing/demo's at every game. The masses need more education, and that is the biggest obstacle we/us/SOS face.
5InIstanbul Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Sort it out with SOS and any other group with similar intentions. Division is the last bloody thing we need right now.

sean Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Hand out 40,000 business cards. Points of anger towards that pair of c****.
CaptainXabi Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 (edited) How much does it cost to advertise on the electronic boards at Anfield? I can't imagine it's more than 10K for a minute (that would translate to 900K for a match, which I really doubt we pull in just from advertising). I say we round up money from a couple of forums and go big. All of Anfield or one of the remaining away grounds (if we can't sneak it past management at home) lit up saying "Gillett and Hicks Out" could definitely get some attention. Bogman Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAYBUT LFC WAS DESTROYED IN ONE R.I.P. LFC 27.03.07
Murdoch Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I think non-attendance will never happen and a delayed entry would raise safety issues. Instead of not turning up for 10 minutes, how about the Kop all turning their backs to the pitch for a set period of time? Making as much noise as possible, perhaps singing YNWA rather than anti-Gillet and Hicks chants. Makes a statement whilst creating a rousing atmosphere for the game.
Sion Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Do a billboard and pavement cleaning thing with quotes and facts. It's what the SOS should have had on them. spade in the ground, the amount of debt etc...
MFletcher Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAYBUT LFC WAS DESTROYED IN ONE R.I.P. LFC 27.03.07 I like this. We could incorporate some kind of imagery from either of the two European Cup wins in Rome on one side and something befitting the current status of the club on the other. I'm not creative enough for this sort of thing unfortunately.
surf Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 getting the owners out means hitting them in their pockets. boycotting games is the most extreme, but there are other options, ie. not buying official merchandise and putting sponsors under presurestatements of protest are useful to get more fans on board to accomplish the above
