Hodgson for Chelsea Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Based on: Cost to get him.Track record in the Premiership. Results based on net spend. The man who could really do a great job is David Moyes. Yeah I know, no chance, but if you look at what he's done in his career with no money, surely there is nobody better to get the best out of this squad right now? I promise I'm not a bluenose undercover, just desperate given our situation. If we could afford him I'd get Mourinho, but we cant. Anybody got a manager they would like to put forward and reasons why? Please save the defending of Rafa for another thread, there are plenty to choose from. IMO he's gone.
Gunga Din Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) ermmmmm, no. if thats the best we can do then Rafa stays Edited March 9, 2010 by Gunga Din
CarraLegend Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) f*** sake, the guy has never won a trophy! He's also a bitter g******* who manages Everton. No, no and no. You've also got to think of the players, they need motivating again I dont think seeing David Moyes walking through the door will do a lot for morale. Oh and lets not start on their humilating experiences in Europe under Moyes. Edited March 9, 2010 by CarraLegend
Arazel Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 David Moyes No, for a few reasons 1) He does well with no money, but I think thats his niche. Noone knows what would happen if he had more money. Not that he'd get more here I suppose 2) More importantly - lacks european experience. 3) Hes an Evertonian. No thanks. The only managers I would like are Hiddink or Mourinho.
JonShar Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 That's the stupidest idea I think I've ever heard. And keep in mind I live in the southern part of the United States, stupid ideas are 10 a minute here. Based on: Cost to get him.Track record in the Premiership. Results based on net spend. Hodgson for Chelsea Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Yeah I know it's out of the box, but that's what we need. Genuinely think he could do a job but maybe there is too much water under the bridge. I also believe he'll go to the mancs after Slur Al and do a great job. Time will tell.
Barnesy_10 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 As above, but swap his farts out for 'Hodgson' for being a cheap underdog.
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Hodgson is a good shout but how old is he? He could certainly steady the ship.
Barnesy_10 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Hodgson is a good shout but how old is he? He could certainly steady the ship. Not sure, but totally dignified and likeable. Unfortunatley will be unlikely to draw in players from the continent.
Bootle Buck Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 At this point I think only King Kenny himself could save this club from ruin. It would at least bring a new lease of life to players and fans alike. Granted he has been out of the game a while but what a lift it would be to see him back. Maybe with Thommo and Sammy Lee as his assistants or even Stevie Nicol.
Barnesy_10 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Gary Mac as assistant.... Might teach them a bit about dead ball situations
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Assuming money is no option do we try and tempt a manager after the world cup such as Lippi, Del Bosque, Hitzfield?
Frosty Jack Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 The man who could really do a great job is David Moyes.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Moyes would about as likely take the Liverpool job as Shanks would have crossed the park. It's not going to happen, so why not discuss Ferguson taking over, or Matt Busby?
Stevie H Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 doesn't speak english and has never managed a club.
Nebraska Red Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Mike BassetHarry Basset the catoon dog would be better than Moyes. I see someone lobbed up an idiot grenade in here today. After the childish name calling, we now have someone suggesting Moyes as manager. heaven help us if we have come to this sorry state of affairs.
