Falconhoof Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I firmly believe we'll finish outside of the top 5.
Swipe Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Gone now. Villa have, what, three games in hand over us now? Plus, there's no chance we'll not lose more games.
Gunga Din Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 i agree Graham. Rafa effectively lost his job tonight. just got to dust ourselves down, get a new man in for the new season, and hope are big players stick around. if Rafa stays, and we end up losing Gerrard, Torres and Reina, then we are even more f***ed. i think we have a better chance of those players staying if we get a new manager in. losing those players, Gerrard especially, will set us back 10 years
Nebraska Red Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 in some perverted way, it may take a season of no European football to make these idiot owners get their heads out of their asses and see what they have done to the club. we have no chance of getting 4th unless City, Spurs and Villa choke the rest of the way and we can find a vein of form. i see us with no Euro footy and a new manager next season.
CarraLegend Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Not a chance of 4th now unfortunately, might aswell start Pacheco, Kelly, Aquilani and a few others in every game and see what happens. Villa's fixture list is so so easy and they now have 3 games in hand, City just need to stay strong at home where they havent lost all season because we wont win away, and Spurs...well they're a bit s**** so we might finish above them. I fear for this club bigtime.
Red Kent Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 in some perverted way, it may take a season of no European football to make these idiot owners get their heads out of their asses and see what they have done to the club. we have no chance of getting 4th unless City, Spurs and Villa choke the rest of the way and we can find a vein of form. i see us with no Euro footy and a new manager next season. The owners are t***s, but they dont pick the team or tactics. The Glazers are t***s, but they dont pick the team or tactics. Randy Learner (jury out), he does not pick the team or tactics. Blame the owners all you want, but Rafa was f***ed up with a capital F and U.
Barnesy_10 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 The best thing to come out of this season would be to tie Pepe and Masch down to new contracts...
D.Boon Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 4th is gone. Time to se what we have in the squad by giving the fringe players games.
Red Kent Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 There is no fourth as there is no fight. Rafa must go sooner the better, even Klinsmann looks a better prospect.
Bootle Buck Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Fight - what a fecking joke, there certainly wasn't any fight in this team. Just a bunch of players playing way below their ability and being completely frustrated by it. With a manager who has run out of ideas, time and sentiment.
Frosty Jack Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 yes we're f***ed. and barring a miraculous managerial appointment we're f***ed long term too.
Stevie H Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 yes we're f***ed. and barring a miraculous managerial appointment we're f***ed long term too.aye.
Farmer's Tan Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 we are not f***ed f***ed,just regular f***ed.we will be really f***ed if we have to sell torres and gerrard to make repayments, what i think will happen is we finish out of top 4 maybe not in europe at all what happens to the owners then?is there anyway possible that they could hang on.if this is what it takes to get rid then i am ok with it.we get a new manager and new owners and a fresh start.it may take us a few seasons to get back into champions league positions, depending on owners but it wont be all bad.i think tbh it would be worse if we somehow managed to snatch forth and have those 2 cling on and eventually find someone to buy in and have them here long term.we aren't in danger of relegation and i am certain that as soon as the price of the club becomes more realistic there will be an endless queue of buyers.sometimes you just need to clean house and take a step back look at things and then move forward,it happens to everyone and everything, its good for you too if you take the right things from it.f*** the champs league for a couple of seasons at most,we will be back on the upward spiral before we know it.
John am Rhein Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Rafa must go sooner the better, even Klinsmann looks a better prospect. we have no chance of getting 4th unless City, Spurs and Villa choke the rest of the way and we can find a vein of form. "no chance" = 3/1 or 11/4 in fact
KopSpice Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Don't think we'll get fourth; think we'll be lucky to finish in the top five the way we are playing at the moment.
Redkop Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 What 'fight' for fourth? Will be a 'fight' for seventh! People cannot seriously believe we are in with a shout for fourth.... wake up and smell the coffee!
John am Rhein Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Can some statto do this? Take the last 10 league games record of Liverpool, Man City, Spurs and Villa and extrapolate that to the end of the season - what order do they finish in? It'd be interesting to do the same for Arsenal, Chelsea and Scum U as well. If no one else can be bothered I'll do it this evening
stonty Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 It's gone,........... we really need the Europa now to salvage some dignity
drdooom Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Never mind 4th, Everton and Birmingham are only 4 and 2 points behind if they win their games in hand.

Mikey Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 losing Gerrard set us back 10 years? we've effectively lost him this season, given some of the performances we've had out of him. i think Rafa leaving is far more likely to see us lose Torres & Reina than if Rafa stays. What utter b******s, Torres must love playing for us right now musn't he? All we do is hoof the f***ing ball at him so every CB in the league can wipe him out. I bet he really loves running his a*** off with the huge talent of Kuyt alongside him. It's blindingly obvious that the players won't play for him, wake up!
Hightown Phil Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 yes we're f***ed. and barring a miraculous managerial appointment we're f***ed long term too. Doesn't matter who the manager is. Unless he brings £500m to turn us back in to a football club.
