I never knew that the word 'posh' came from the days of the British Empire and the Raj.

 

Apparently wealthy imperials would get cabins on the ship sided 'Port Out, Starboard Home' meaning their room was always shaded on the long trip to India. So the wealthy people were POSH.

 

I love useless but interesting facts like this - anyone else have one?
