That's a bit of an odd story, isn't it?

He's been arrested on suspicion of murder after Inside Out was broadcast on the Beeb and he admitted killing his former lover, who was suffering the late stages of Aids, by suffocating him in hospital

"The BBC said it had no further information about the crime other than that broadcast during the programme which was intended as a personal and "quirky" look at death." Blimey.

Surely somebody at the BBC must have flagged up the possibility of repercussions?

You can only assume that he knew exactly what he was doing and his intention was to bring this out into the open.

The Independent says that, 'Aiding or abetting another person's death is illegal in England and Wales under the 1961 Suicide Act, and is punishable by up to 14 years in jail.'

I've met him a couple of times and he is a thoroughly good bloke too.
