Everything about this story reeks of class

A former Playboy Model of the Year has walked free from court after being given a suspended sentence for attacking a woman in a nightclub.

Louise Glover, 27, struck Maxine Hardcastle's head against a toilet rim 10 times and tried to push her head down the lavatory during a night out in Brighton, East Sussex.

Ms Hardcastle suffered facial bruising, hair loss and was left covered in blood and scratches in what the court heard was a "vicious and unprovoked attack", motivated by "irrational jealousy".

The attack occured in a toilet cubicle at the Oceana nightclub, in December.

The court heard Glover became agitated and angry and accused Ms Hardcastle - daughter of 1980s musician Paul Hardcastle - of looking at her husband.

Ms Hardcastle broke down in court as she described how Glover - who was dressed in a pink Santa outfit  - lifted her arm and brought it down forcefully on Ms Hardcastle's nose, causing her to hit her head on the cubicle.

Ms Hardcastle said she "pleaded" with Glover to stop, but the attack continued.

Holding her neck, Glover repeatedly hit Ms Hardcastle's head against the rim of the lavatory then tried to force her head into the toilet bowl.

Glover told the court she acted in self-defence after Ms Hardcastle became "hysterical" about apparent family problems.

Dressed in court in a white coat and black miniskirt with black knee-high boots, Glover called from the dock several times during the hearing.

When prosecutor Andrew Judge told the court she had a previous conviction for assaulting a police officer, she shouted: "No I didn't!"

Judge Charles Kemp told her to "shut up and listen", and warned she would be taken to the cells if she refused to be quiet.

He accused Glover of showing "complete absence of any sign of remorse", and handed her a 30-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Glover looked down at her feet as she said: "My career is over now."

why exactly a suspended sentence means you can no longer stand around naked while someone takes pics of you, I dunno. She doesn't sound all that bright, to be fair
