Swipe Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Not on TV? 3pm KO as we start in the UEFA Cup the previous Thursday, but bit surprised it's not on TV at all. Massive game this, obviously. Need a win. Think they'll have played one of their game in hands before we go there. If they win that and beat us, they're 6 ahead of us with a game in hand.
Flasher Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Neither team will want to lose that one, and rightly so. I think both teams would gladly take the draw then go for it with the remaining games.
Hassony Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 It's away to stoke isn't, so it's not like it will be a guranteed 3 points for them Saw a bit of their game against Bolton, they were second best for most of the game they do have good attacking options though
CarraLegend Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 They're garbage and Mancini has got them playing ultra defensive which doesnt suit their strengths at all. As long as we dont lose im pretty sure we'll finish above them. Villa might be the bigger threat if they win the cup.

Think it was you saying the other day you'd be interested to see how many away games they'll win for the rest of the season. Was thinking the same (mockers alert!). Really don't look like they have much fight. Be good if we had at least one of our injured back for it.

Yeah I'll be absolutely stunned if they win more than 2 away games from here. Torres back sometime this decade would be nice aswell.
DanielS Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 If Babel and Pacheco don't start then we will lose this one.
dorgie Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 City have a lot of tricky away fixtures left and their away form hasn't been good. I think they'll drop plenty points but the question is can we take enough points ? City, the Mancs & Chelsea are our 3 toughest games, our other fixtures are all winnable, but easier said than done.
baz2107 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 would definitely take a point now, and see what City can do back end of the season, we've got experience at doing this, they haven't
muleskinner Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 We need to pull out a 'must win' style performance despite only managing it once away so far this season. I think we will need 9 wins from the remaning 12 games to get 4th.
Gunga Din Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 if we lose, i think 4th will be gone if we lose, i think 4th will be gone
Maldini Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I'd start Kelly if Carra's out, Degen will get torn a new one by Johnson and Tevez
dl2009 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) if we lose, i think 4th will be gone if we lose, i think 4th will be gone But what if we lose? Edited February 11, 2010 by dl2009
Rory Fitzgerald Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 But what of we lose? If we lose, we lose !
dl2009 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I'd start Kelly if Carra's out, Degen will get torn a new one by Johnson and Tevez Agreed. Similarly, Insua's a bit of a liabilty against wingers with pace or good movement, so I'd play Aurelio. Reina Kelly Skrtel Agger Aurelio Gerrard Masch Babel/Maxi Aquilani Riera Kuyt * or Pacheco if Aquilani still has the s***s.
Dominus Maximus Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Is it fair to doubt they'll turn it around if Liverpool lose to City?
CarraLegend Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Its obviously a big ask, if they win at Stoke and beat us, but then the weekend after they're at Chelsea and we are at home to Blackburn so its likely thats 3 points back for us straight away. Im more bothered about Villa, theyve played the filth twice, played us twice, played Arsenal twice, played Tottenham twice and if they win the cup they'll be on a massive confidence boost. Our fixture list is very kind from here though so I think we'll take it.
growler Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I Reckon we'll lose, we did the whole 'we'll turn it around at Man city and win' crap. Everytime we have said that recently, we haven't delivered, so at best we'll get a draw. We should be winning it though.
CarraLegend Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Everytime we have said that recently, we haven't delivered This obsession with interviews is absolutely bizarre. The players have said the same before Villa and Everton, where were you then? Its the usual cliched stuff, it doesnt decide whether you win or lose a game.
Benzo-13 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Papers tomorrow are saying Torres could be back for this!!!!
Hassony Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Papers tomorrow are saying Torres could be back for this!!!! i hope we don't rush him back again I am worried that he will miss the world cup
Sion Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Well, the Mail say it, so expect him to be back sometime next year
Zoob Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Well, the Mail say it, so expect him to be back sometime next year Strangely enough, in the last year or so the Mail seem to be fairly accurate (or rather more accurate than other papers) when it comes to LFC stories. But the fact that he's running doesn't mean he's near a return - as it will only be when he starts turning, being tackled etc, that Torres and the medical staff will know whether he's anywhere near ready. Even to have him on the bench would be a huge boost. Obviously wouldn't want to risk him if he's not right yet, but the game is still 10 days away, and by the time it comes around Torres will have been out for 5 and a half weeks, and the prognoses at the time was that he'd be out for 6 weeks. Hopefully Benayoun should also be back soon, and will actually be properly fit, having given his hamstrings a rest for a month.

Andy @ Allerton Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Not confident about this game. Hopefully will get a draw and then we can concentrate on the rest of the season.
