Dr. Feelgood was one for a start, particularly with Wilco Johnson up front.

Shalamar from the disco era.

Joan Armatrading I always liked and I'm not a big fan of that genre of moany music.

I love Eeek-a-Mouse too. Fantastic entertainment and great music to have on in the background when you're getting wasted.
