The Club is Dieing, in an Inevitable Downward Spiral

The state the club is in, the performances we are putting in, are inevitable under the present owners.

It's been pointed out a number of times that the numbers don't add up. There is nothing left to take the club forward once the debts are paid each year. And that has come to pass as it was predicted it would.

I'm frustrated at the short sightedness of the majority of our supporters in not seeing what is as plain as day and in front of us. So I've stopped getting involved in most discussions, as, I;ve noticed, have other people like Knox - about Rafa, about our tactics. Because that stuff, which truly hurts all of us as fans, is transitory.

Can't people see that nothing will change under any manager while the clowns own us ? There will be no investment from outside under the terms they are looking for. That Hicks doesn't really care whether there is outside investment or not. That as long as he retains ownership and the club funds his purchase that is enough for him.

This seasons performance, whether Rafa stays or goes, Stevie Gs form, whether we finish fourth - all of this in unimportant.

The club is dieing and we are pissing about falling out over things that are not permanent, taking away the focus from the real problem.

How bad does it have to get ? It will get worse.

The Owners are soooooooooooo last year.

Aye, and they'll be sooooooooooooooo next year and the year after and the year after.

The club is rotten from the top down, and it's probably gonna take something major to happen to the club for people to wake up.

SOS do their bit, but the numbers they get to rallies, etc, in the grand scheme of things on a match day, is paltry, and that really narks me.

I've tried not to go on the other threads about last nights game, because it's pointless, it really is pointless talking about getting rid of Rafa when in reality nothing will change if he went.

I'm disheartened with our supporters. They've become brain washed by Sky, and they want everything now, and if they don't get it, they throw their toys out.

We, you me are Liverpool supporters. It doesn't matter if you were'nt born in the city, the club is ours, and it's embarrarssing that the vast majority of our fans have turned a blind eye to whats happening to our once great club. Embarrasssing, that you'll argue about Rafa when he's been battling them from day one, but the moment things get a little tough, you leave him out to dry. Embarrassing that you don't want to believe that the heart is being riped out from within. Embarrassed that you won't do anything about it. But most important, I'm embarrassed that you don't seem to care.

I fear if Rafa goes the owners will look to cash in on the valuable players. It would be weirder if they didn't really.

Gives them a context for justifying it, being part of "rebuilding", or players leaving out of loyalty to the manager/not being in champions league etc.

I wonder how much Stoke, Fulham, Reading and Wolves spent compared to us last summer ?

Yeah because that's what this is about.

It's not "unimportant".

There's the long term concern of having Owners that are not driving the club forward at all, and just about threading water. And there's the short term concern of Rafa not getting the most out of this squad of players at all and our looking pretty much unlikely to qualify for any European competition next year. That will in its turn feed into the long term concerns, making us less attractive to players, to investment and less financially viable. The "threading water" scenario may even become problematic if funds coming into the club shrink which actually makes the short term concern even more important right now.

But ultimately, there's absolutely no basis for claiming these are mutually exclusive concerns - both are important.

f*** off Kev. Are we not allowed to be concerned about the owners at all now? Not even in a seperate thread away from the matchstuff so people who have an eppy at the site of the words net spend don't have an eppy?

Find one person on here who's saying our performances are acceptable at the moment. Back up your point.

Actually dont bother trying because you wont be able to so please, please, please f*** off with this tedious s****.

f***ing annoying when the OP has made the general point that he thinks people should be focusing on different things that you then decide to sabotage another thread with this crap.

It's not like there aren't threads you could have put this in.

The owners are raping this club. They're taking money out.

With these two at the helm we're on a downward spiral. The owners don't give a damn cause they're earning.

Do you have anything positive or constructive to say, ever? ....... You had a nice holiday in Malaga, the Mrs makes a great Spag Bol, Rafa has actually shown some managing credentials?

f***s sake does that have to come into evey thread. Lile the the thread above where people are discussing ideas for a billboard and Ant weighs in with Rafa spending £17m on a RB. Why does every thread about the owners have to be changed into a Rafa out discussion?

Started when DM listened to Parry & took a bit more, so many knock on effects happening. I really think

we'd of been better off now (Though not at the time) if Morgan would of bought us rather than these c****.

I thought Parry recommended DIC? Pretty sure that was said on here not so long ago.

I can't see how, unless he'd use his contacts to build us the stadium at mates rates.

Like everything on here mostly all just Idea's we all have although some do know.

Dont think we would be as bad off, as he is LFC mad.

Just frustrated M8 like most of us ;)

Well said, that man.

The main consolation in all this for me is that all the Rafa-snipers have jack to do with whether he stays or goes, so at least the massive missing of the greater issue is not causing any more trouble than we have to deal with already.

It beggar's belief that the guy, who from day 1 has had the owners down to a tee with his statement about show us the money just after Athens, can be accused BY OUR OWN FANS of conning the fans, and trading on their sentimentality.

If the tedious sad acts calling for Rafa's head with every breath put that effort in a campaign to get rid of the owners they'd be gone by tomorrow afternoon.

Us playing s*** at the moment has very little to do with our muppet owners. We have spent more than any of the s*** teams (Stoke, Pompey, Wolves, Fulham, Reading) we have lost or drawed with and our players should individually be lightyears better than anything those teams can field.

Yes, we have been extremely unlucky with so many players injured. Yes, Rafa has been shafted royaly by the owners (and we all want the two bad men gone/dead/whatever).

But, seriousely, our downfall has happened WAY to early to blame the owners. We have more or less the same team as we had last year, except Xabi/Arbi - and Xabi was monumental for us last year. However, we shouldn't fold as a team like we have done all season - even our pre-season was 100% s***.

We seem to lack motivation, all the players are going through the motions it looks like. This is Rafa's sole responsibility to solve. If he can't do it, let S.Lee do it (if he can). I don't give a flying f*** if the players feel demotivated. They are overpaid, spoiled professionals who gets a s***load of money to do their job. I expect them to go out there and give it their best effort, no matter who is injured or missing.

The way we play no, the team just kills me. I've never seen us play this bad over such a prolonged time and I've been more or less onboard since 1969-1970.

This has to end. Now. Else, we'll end up as a new Leeds - which I have been worrying about for a long time seing how we are run. Look how hard a time Leeds have just to even get back to the premiership, never mind the CL. Hence, our problem needs sorted now. Forget about long-term effects. We must first solve our current crisis.

There's different issues here. Long term we're are f***** with these owners. No matter who the manager is we're not going to be able to compete at the level we expect to if we have no money to spend, and we quite clearly haven't got any and don't look like having anything material for the future. So we need to readdress our expectations, as the reality is we're now in a group battling for the top four and probably domestic cups. No manager is going to solve this problem under current conditions

More short term there are clearly issues as to getting the best out of our current squad, both motivationally and tactically. Last night was a shambles and it's not the only example of such this season. We should be finishing top 4 this season IMO despite the lack of investment and injuries given the ability of our first 11 (and a couple of others) vs the contenders. Unfortunatley, I don't think we'll be able to claim this by the start of next season no matter what happens between now and May.

We've basically still got a cracking first 11 as a legacy of happier times, it's only going to get worse. Happy 'kin days
