Ronaldo - ****er

Cristiano Ronaldo insists he did not mean to hurt Patrick Mtiliga after leaving the Malaga defender with a broken nose in an incident that saw the Portugal international sent off for the second time in less than two months for Real Madrid.

The world's most expensive player, who earlier in the match had scored both of Madrid's goals in their 2-0 win, also felt the dismissal was unjust.

.......

I learned in England not to deceive the referees. This is not a red card here or in anywhere in the world and I'm not asking for protection. I've seen worse things in other games.

.......

Now I'm going to be angry when I get home because I won't be able to play through suspension."

I felt sorry for him, spending all that time playing for united have made him unaware that the rules still apply to him

last season he probably should have been sent off 3-4 times for kicking and elbowing opponents

"I didn't mean to injure the lad. It was bad luck to hit him on the nose because he's only 1.70m and if he had been taller I would have struck his chest." mad.gif

"The referee has to understand which players want to entertain and those who want to break up the spectacle," he said. "Cristiano wants to play. When a player grabs him from behind he tries to break away from them. Others throw themselves to the ground to simulate a foul.

"More than Ronaldo's need to adapt to the Spanish league the referees need to adapt to protect players who want to entertain. I don't want to judge referees decisions, simply to state that Ronaldo's intentions are always noble."

w***STAIN!

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo says his two-match suspension and £500 fine for breaking the nose of a Malaga defender is "excessive", and is confident the La Liga club's appeal will succeed.

Ronaldo scored both goals in the 2-0 win at the Bernabéu on Sunday, but was shown a straight red card in the 70th minute after catching defender Patrick Mtiliga with a flailing arm.

If Real's attempts to get the ban reversed, reduced or postponed are unsuccessful he will miss Saturday's trip to Deportivo la Coruña and the home game against Espanyol the following weekend.

"I wasn't impressed, of course," Ronaldo told As newspaper. "I sincerely believe the punishment is excessive. I am confident in the appeal the club is going to lodge and that the punishment will be reduced."

The disciplinary committee decided Ronaldo's actions were not wilful or reckless, which would have meant a longer suspension, but that he had been guilty of dangerous play.

It was his second dismissal of the season following his sending-off against Almeria in December for kicking out at an opponent after he had earlier been booked for taking off his shirt in a goal celebration.

Javier Lopez Farre, Real's legal director, told Cadena Ser radio if the appeal was unsuccessful they would take the case to Spain's Sporting Disciplinary Committee (CEDD), a body overseen by the government sports council (CSD).

"Of course, we would then ask for a postponement of the ban," he said. "If the player completes the suspension then it won't help us at all if the CEDD rules in our favour."

Real presented evidence to the RFEF disciplinary committee which included video of an incident earlier this month involving the Barcelona forward Lionel Messi trying to shake off a Sevilla opponent who was holding him back.

Messi was awarded a free kick and Real claimed the incident supported their case for Ronaldo's card to be reversed.

The committee ruled, however, that as the referee had not mentioned the Messi incident in his match report it was not relevant and, in any case, no injury had been caused.

Real Madrid have lost their appeal against the two-match suspension handed to Cristiano Ronaldo following his red card against Malaga.

Spanish daily Marca confirmed today that the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Appeal Committee had ruled against the Blancos.

The three members of the committee, Joseph Matthew Diaz, Pedro Garcia Perez and Francisco Rubio Sanchez dismissed Real Madrid’s request to have the red card rescinded and confirmed the decision would be upheld.

I imagine the poor lad will be crying on Rio's shoulder as they both come to grips with suspension.

Who would have thought that 2 different football associations would find spines and deal with t***s like placcy and froggy.
