Hate this smarmy c***. Face I'd love to punch repeatedly and another that loves the limelight. Why is it that these guys who end up in these positions with the open cheque book have no class at all???

I was just going to start a thread on him. What a f***ing g******* that guy is, I think he's worse than Kenyon. Kenyon might be evil but he's clearly a clever operator, this guy is like the David Brent of football.

I think he's 80% bulls***ting bravado and American business speak. Clearly in a world where pulling these things off gets you noticed and can actually carry along people who also believe in the same crap, he's going to be ok. Moment the going gets heavy, when they fail to meet 'stretch targets', when there's no stooge left to replace, he'll f*** off to the next 'challenge' and f*** them up.

He's an idiot. Kenyon is a c*** but he at least presented himself to the media as being shrewd. And he was reasonably quiet.

 

Cook is busting to create a media profile for himself. He made an utter c**k of himself at the Mancini press conference.

City will keep rising, don't give a toss about this Cook character but they have the money behind them to at least establish the standing that Chelsea have.

Chelsea are still bleeding money and are nowhere near being sustainable or anywhere near being a global club. You cant manufacture this kind of thing anymore than you can manufacture a band with the reach and longevity as the Beatles; sure you can market a short term pop phenomenon, but you cant build something that means something to people on money and exposure alone.

Slightly disagree with you.

I would suggest that generally we are better than some football supporters, but maybe it is unfair to pick on Everton fans all the time :popcorn:

 

But I get your main point.

 

The thing is, if they are successful, they will get a percentage of the kids and those that swap their alligences, but they would need on-going success for years to catch up with us the ****, Real, Barca etc.

Many people will not change and they also pass their alligences down to their kids. We have a global saturation of football worldwide now, so its not like there are millions of people with lots of money just waiting to support City.

The ONLY thing that could have a major effect is if they are able to start negotaiting their own TV rights.

Otherwise we have another Chelsea - they have success and they gain fans, but they continue to be bankrolled for many years rather than become "self-substaining"

 

He is preparing a £100million bid with a £200,000 a week contract offer for Torres according to the beeb gossip page.

 

I get the impression they will publically "tap-up" players all the time.
