Dreadful against Stoke... but then made an absolute marvellous impact today. What does the future hold for him? He's got some pace, he is a great finisher, not a bad dribbler... if he can work on his aerial ability and his strength he could be a player.

Inconsistency of youth?

He just didn't win his free kicks against Stoke for some reason.

His best performances are when he's brave enough to take the knocks and win us possession further up the field.

He did it brilliantly at the Derby.

Kuyt was too honest tonight.

He reminded me of the 2007 CL Final when he was behind our midfield at times. Its something that can be overlooked when he plays right mid and its something thats an asset when he plays there but there were times when we picked the ball up and Kuyt was behind it.

Thought Ngog gave a much needed relief i.e. someone that played further forward than Kuyt and someone with more pace than Kuyt taht the Spurs players took notice of.

Not astonishing but gave us different options and them different problems

PS. Babel, please take note !

Not trying to sound naive here but he had a bad game against Stoke, listened to what Rafa told him after the game and started putting it right today??

Maybe??

PS - If he was a Manc I bet the press would be raving about him as a future talent.

I said after the Stoke game. More often than not this season Ngog has tried to step up when called on. That means I'll cut him the slack for games like the Stoke one where it didn't happen for him.

Hes done well all season. Crap against pPurs and Stoke, but showed some great play tonight again. Looked dangerous everytime he had the ball.

I like him. He's young & cost nowt.

He won't be a Torres, Fowler or Rush but he's deffo useful for the next couple of seasons. If he gets a break, he could be a permanent squad player - bit of a supersub.

Wonder what we could sell him for? Thing is, the media - well conceived wisdom - is that he's absolute s****, when he's anything but

From the early glimpses of Ngog I have thought 2 things;

- Loves to run forward,

- Loves to shoot.

As much as I love those qualities, I'd like him to hold it up a bit more in order to improve his abilities.

However, he is worth a couple of million in the PL give what he has done - at least 5-6mln !

Ill tell you what guys, for a 1.5m buy he has been a pretty bloody decent squad player.

There have been games where i have just held my head and thought "this guy cannot possible be a future, he is not a footballer when he cannot shoot sometimes and pass the ball 2 metres." and then he will show a flash, a glimmer like tonight's performance where you think to yourself that he could possibly be a starter in 2-3-4 years time.

He definitely needs to work on his strength, but also his balance when he is shooting. He just seems to look dyslexic sometimes when he shoots. Also as mentioned above, he needs to work on his headers, how to position himself to challenge for a header and how to use his strength, what he has of it.

The main thing though that impresses me is that he doesnt hide. And even when he makes a mistake he still doesn't hide, but seems to want the ball more. He is always in a position to receive a pass, and definitely has instincts of a striker because more often than not he is in the right position to score, just waiting for the right ball.

Its funny that the whole world thinks we need another striker. We don't. Providing we bring in top quality for the wings, we can use Kuyt and Ngog as back up for Torres and I think they are fine. Are they as good as Torres? Of course not. But find me a player of that quality prepared to be back up?

If he is happy to be squad player, happy to keep him.

Wonder what the likes of Nemeth are thinking though?

I would like to see LDV given a shot every now and again. Just for the last 5 minutes of a game we are cruising. towards the end of the season maybe?

not sure you can ask N'Gog to do much more than come on when Torres is knackered and a game is won.

the lad struggles to lead the line when he starts up front on his tod.

we need someone who can give us a few starts so Torres can be rested occasionally.

Think Kuyt can do that role if we have quality behind him

I really think we do.

We need another good centre forward, tonight doesn't change that.

People forget how young he is I think, he's going to be some player.

is correct, sometimes you can't ask a kid to lead the line and be anywhere near to as good as the player he is replacing.

we have been lucky in the past with the likes of Rush, Owen and Fowler who were all special talents almost from day 1.

N'Gog needs to have players around him that can help him play well, or, like tonight he needs to be asked to do a job for a short period of time.

he's been asked to do alot this season and it will take a while for him to become a consistent performer.

Maybe stating the obvious, but he's one of those players for whom it could go either way - push on and become a really good player - not Fowler, or Torres good, but still pretty good, or be one of the many youngsters who promises much but ends up being pretty average (someone like Pongolle for example, or even worse, Le Tallac). What I like about him is by all accounts he's a good learner, he always looks like he cares, and he's clearly got some good skills.

I read somewhere that one of the national papers (maybe one in France) wanted to interview him, but he turned them down, saying he'd rather wait until he'd made something of himself in the game... which says a lot about good attitude, modesty and ambition.

Ngog is an enigma!

One game he seems unable to control a simple pass and other times he seems to have flashes of a henry/torres mixture type of player.

|I think he's got decent potential, and because of circumstance he's getting a lot of opportunities this season, which can only benefit him more.

We could end up with a decent striker out of it. Just imagine the press if Harry Redkinapp or Wenger had bought a young striker for a million quid and he scored six goals.
