Eskimo Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Thought he had another good game, kept Crouch quiet and its great to see someone offering a threat from corners/free kicks.
Tones Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Nearly scored again too. Controlled it well but poor shot. Good to see hes a useful player to have
dorgie Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Should be well suited to play against a lot of the Premier League strikers. 2 great games in a row now.
Red_Rob Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 We've looked so much more solid in the last two games, thanks to him. Could turn out to be a very canny McAllister-type signing.
Andy-oh-six Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 He should be first choice at the moment considering what our other defenders have played like this season.
Chili Palmer Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) He should be first choice at the moment considering what our other defenders have played like this season. I think thats a sad statement really. Its true but sad as really a player like the greek shouldn't be anywhere near our first team. Love his attitude tho. Edited January 20, 2010 by Chili Palmer

Love his attitude tho. What is sad about it? He has had two really good games, should be applauded and just what we need.
Tobes Rafa Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 the new SamiAnother good game from Zorba against completely different opposition. Great attitude too.

Chili Palmer Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 What is sad about it? He has had two really good games, should be applauded and just what we need. I'm not not applauding him for it! he's done great, shouldn't be our first choice centre back tho. What's that t*** said? he said something like he could be important as he is a battler
Rimbeux Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 What's that t*** said? He could be the key man in getting out of the slump, basic head it and block that's been an issue
Nerik Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 He knows the game more than he lets on. You think he is just hard and committed but I think he is very intelligent too in terms of pressing, positioning etc.
Coyler Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 He was awesome. So, so good to see him going up for set pieces.
MFletcher Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I'm not going to get carried away, because he's clearly a limited player. However, for every mistake he makes along the ground, he clears about 15 balls in the air. As Rimbeux says, a lot of our problems in defence have come from poor aerial ability and a failure to deal with such balls. It's great to have a centre back in there who'll get up, head the f***ing ball and actually clear it. I'd have him in the team for the next few games, because he's doing all the right things and actually showing some leadership at the back. I'm quite prepared to watch him get done once a game on the ground if he's handling the aerial ball so well.
CarraLegend Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 He was immense and deserves to keep his place. The others have been generally poor so let him have his chance.
Coyler Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 He was immense and deserves to keep his place. The others have been generally poor so let him have his chance. This is now my thinking. Whatever deficiencies he has in other areas he really compensates for. A Rafa masterstroke...
Jarg Armani Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Great again. Keep picking him, he's not arsed about corners, and his calmness is infectious. He puts it behind and gives them all a look that says "and what? it's just a f***ing corner."
Guy_Incognito Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I made reference to it in the other thread, but watch 300 and it's no surprise he's coming good. "We'll play them in the shade"
Hassony Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 He was immense and deserves to keep his place. The others have been generally poor so let him have his chance. yes, he has been excellent in the last two games, and he seems to be bringing Skrtle back into form which is a good thing I thought it was skrtle's best game of the season
growler Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 had my doubts, still not convinced, but if he continues like that, will be a good squad player whilst we bring through our kids.
Nebraska Red Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I wonder what the combined IQ of our central pair is. both look like the yahve taken a few blows to the head over the years. I listened to the Sirius radio for the last 15 minutes and the guy on the commentary said Kyrgiakos played like a Trojan. I wonder if he would be insulted by that.
