It's easy to be a supporter when times are good and we've been more fortunate than most. But times are not good at the moment and while (much to Fleet Street's annoyance) our fans have largely stayed behind the manager and players, I think it's time to ramp things up a notch.

Wednesday night is huge and what we need is a European-style atmosphere. We need the flags out, we need the full repertoire of songs and chants and we need to keep it up for 90+ minutes. We need to bite our tongues when the players make mistakes, we need to applaud their efforts even if they go wrong and, if the match is still level late on, we need to keep the angst to ourselves and not transmit it to the players. In summary, we need the sort of night on the terraces that we delivered in that Champions League semi-final in 2005.

Riise commented that he felt he could have run all night in that atmosphere and, given the players heads have been down recently, another dose of it would go down a treat at the moment.

As fans, we can influence a game. We pulled it off in 2005 when, lets face it, the Chelsea side we faced was far superior to our own. Well, we can do it again. So let's go for it

Full support should be the case for every game, not just Wednesday. Sadly, I think it's been lacking of late.

Totally agree and I hold up my hands and say there are times when I could give more. But some occasions are more important than others. In 2005 I came out of the ground hoarse, deaf and quite frankly in need of a good shower. I also returned home that night safe in the knowledge that I played a part in carrying those players to Istanbul. Fleet street's finest (if you can call them fine) had the obituaries ready that night - not just for Liverpool but also for our captain's future with the club. I, for one, would like to see them eating their words again on Wednesday night - especially since one of their favourite sons in the shape of 'dear old 'Arry' is coming to town

Difficult to get a siege mentality going when half of the inhabitants of Troy are secretly crossing their fingers that the Greeks get in with their big horse...

Quite staggering isn't it those those who convince themselves a change is necessary, have confidence that change will lead to something better.

it's doesn't matter what you think about Rafa or the Americans. Wednesday night is about lifting those players and getting 3 points. If you don't feel you can bring yourself to do it and you have a ticket for the game then please pass the ticket on to someone who will.

The esteemed scribes of our capital are priming our boss for the boot and using us as pawns in the media game to oust him. Nothing would be sweeter than watching these vermin have to back track again.

Jib them off for the week, or maybe they'll join in

Under the stands on Saturday before the game, I heard someone shout - "If we want to still be able to call ourselves the 'Best Supporters in the World', then we have to show it today - Get behind the team and the manager" - to widespread approval. Shouldn't need saying, but we've all been to games when it isn't as good as it should be - but I thought the suppoprt on Saturday was magnificent, despite a less than stellar, but undoubtedly gutsy and masssively committed, performance, and put the self-acclaimed intimidating Stoke fans to shame for most of the game.

I got the distinct impression that our friends in the media were a little disappointed not to have Rafa and the team booed off at the end, and their disappointment gave me a warm feeling inside. Come on here and argue the toss all you like (and rather here amongst the faithful, whatever their standpoint, than a public forum like 606), but it should be an absolute and inviolable article of faith that we give it 100% on Wednesday. YNWA.
