CarraLegend Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 (edited) http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/injury-update-from-melwood-1 Liverpool today revealed the extent of the injuries sustained by Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun against Reading last night. A Club spokesman said: "Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres both underwent scans earlier today after coming off in the FA Cup tie against Reading. "Steven has a hamstring strain and will be out for a fortnight, while Fernando has torn a cartilage in his right knee. The injury will require surgery and he is expected to be sidelined for six weeks. "Yossi Benayoun also suffered a fractured rib in the game and will be unavailable for between three and four weeks." Season officially done then! Edited January 14, 2010 by CarraLegend
Earl Hafler Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 What was i saying about starting them in the FA Cup ? f***ing ludicrous to keep going to the well with two players coming back from injuries. If that's true then 4th place is bye bye.
New York Red Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 When it rains it f*cking pours. This season has been incomprehensibly bad. There is nothing that has happened that has been any good. It is quite astonishing. We'll be three years getting over this.
Leo No.8 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 We might as well have been playing without both of them lately anyway, but I was hoping a few more games would see them find their form. Really are f*cked now, royally. N'Gog's performance last night showed he has a way to go as a top flight striker yet. Can anyone think of a striker who might be available on loan who could improve us?
Tones Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 What have we done to get all this bad luck? Its really hard to believe.
Jacks Jackie Jackson Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Words fail me. I have no faith in us getting 4th now and feel real despondency about the rest of the season. What do we have to look forward to? More humiliation and Thursday and Sunday football until we get booted out of the Europa league. What larks.
CaptainXabi Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Can they fix Fernando's hernia or whatever it is at the same time? Let's just get it all out of the way.
CarraLegend Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Go and get Van Nistelrooy, but we wont because we cant afford him.
Boca Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 The only crumb of comfort is the injuries happened in the transfer window and a replacement brought in. But knowing the two c**** in charge nothing will probably happen.
Barnesy_10 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Go and get Van Nistelrooy, but we wont because we cant afford him.and hes probably injured as well.... 13 minutes of football all season apparently
Nate. Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Have to get a striker in now, just have to. We should defo look at having both ops done on Nando too.
CarraLegend Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Typically in the next 6 weeks we've got Spurs, the derby, Arsenal and City.
Gunga Din Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 We might as well have been playing without both of them lately anyway, but I was hoping a few more games would see them find their form. Really are f*cked now, royally. N'Gog's performance last night showed he has a way to go as a top flight striker yet. Can anyone think of a striker who might be available on loan who could improve us? i'd shove in a bid for Miroslav Klose. find the money from somewhere and get him in.
Murphman Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Can they fix Fernando's hernia or whatever it is at the same time? Let's just get it all out of the way. Great shout, no reason they can't do both, let's get him properly fit once and for all. This season is a write off.
Barnesy_10 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 and there was us lot happy that Lennon will be out for the game... imagine the Spurs fans now
Behind Enemy Lines Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 feck, feck & double feck - I think we're fecked COME ON RED MEN!
Hassony Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 how many more points do we need to make sure we avoid relegation?
Earl Hafler Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 i'd shove in a bid for Miroslav Klose. find the money from somewhere and get him in. Aye. Maybe see if they want Babel in part exchange. Maxi can replace Babel in the squad. If the Owners don't fund the move for a striker, we're f***ed and the value of the club drops when we fail to qualify for the CL.
Boca Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Typically in the next 6 weeks we've got Spurs, the derby, Arsenal and City. Doesn't matter who the opponent is lately.
MFletcher Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 This is a perfect storm of s****ness. I'm not sure I could be any more f***ed off with football at the minute. As far as I'm concerned, I've always expected to get fourth because we had Gerrard and Torres - world class talent who could pull it out of the bag when the going got tough and ensure we got over the line. With Torres out for six weeks - and let's be f***ing honest, it's going to be longer AND he'll need games to play himself into fitness - we are in serious, serious s***. Investment HAS to come this window to buy a replacement who is up to the job, because we are totally f***ed in the final third if he's not going to be playing at full pelt until late March.
