Spirit Of Shankly Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 After yesterday's behaviour by Tom Hicks Jr, we are calling for his resignation.http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/Tom-Hicks-Jnr-_-Resign-Now!.htmlSpirit of Shankly
PeeG Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 It has reached Texas. http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/2010/01/you_kiss_your_father_with_that.php
Frosty Jack Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Resignings too good 'em Lynching, Dixie-Style?
Rory Fitzgerald Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I have not seen the e-mail from the fan nor what preceeded it but it appears that the response of TH Jnr seemed to be someone that had lost all patience because it was short and ended with "......I'm sick of you", suggesting that their was more than just the 'polite' query in question. Dont get me wrong, its not something befitting of our club but I suspect there was alot more behind this than just a 'polite' query

If the lad had been calling him all the c**** under the sun I doubt he'd have sent an apology. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Will they release some of the abusive emails that I'm sure he does get from the odd crank as a way of trying to garner some sympathy I wonder ('Look at the constant threats/provocation/abuse I'm getting, boo-hoo-hoo')?
CarraLegend Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Dont get me wrong, its not something befitting of our club but I suspect there was alot more behind this than just a 'polite' query Nope you're wrong, hence the media all pointing out it was just a polite email and Hicks apologising for it. Plenty of people have seen the emails to verify it.

Valid counter arguement, I cant disagree with that - and I further agree - it will be interesting to see how this unfolds because more will have to come out of this.

He sent him Dominic King's article from the echo questioning Rafa's ability to spend and he got those two replies. Regardless of that. It is not the behaviour expected of a director. If anyone sent that e-mail to a customer of their company, then they would be sacked. No difference here.

Although there have been some Parent's Evenings when I've been tempted to use similar words.

Zoob Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Would be good if SOS contacted the Dallas Star Telegram to see if they'll run the story.
surf Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 if anyone else would like to encourage him to resign, his email (taken from the SOS link above) is - tohjr@hicksholdings.com good luck
Zoob Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 if anyone else would like to encourage him to resign, his email (taken from the SOS link above) is - tohjr@hicksholdings.com good luck Such a shame that bots are now going to pick up that e-mail address and bombard the guy with spam.... Would still like to see a concerted campaign to disrupt business - if thousands of fans sent e-mails to the same hicksholdings e-mail address at a specific time, (and even better if the e-mails all had an attachment of at least 2 megs), it would most likely crash their mail server, and prevent other, more important mails from being delivered. Start having a very genuine, disruptive effect on business...
muleskinner Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Would be good if SOS contacted the Dallas Star Telegram to see if they'll run the story. Its in the Dallas Observer blogs, link is higher up the page. I'm sure the other papers over there will get onto it.
Frosty Jack Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 It was. He sent him Dominic King's article from the echo questioning Rafa's ability to spend and he got those two replies. One thing to bear in mind, is that his response was sent at 3am.When I saw him he was on his blackberry constantly, this isn't him calmly sitting in an office firing these messages off.

That's what makes it even worse, his clear lack of foresight and understanding of his responsibilities given his position.
Frosty Jack Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 That's what makes it even worse, his clear lack of foresight and understanding of his responsibilities given his position. oh absolutely, you dont check your work emails when out on the piss. EVERYONE knows that

Can you imagine someone on the board of Tesco sending such an email to a customer, regardless of what the customer had said?
Frosty Jack Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 (edited) It really doesn't matter if it was. Can you imagine someone on the board of Tesco sending such an email to a customer, regardless of what the customer had said? let's run with this, yes, it'd be like a 6 year old boy repeatedly sending emails to someone on the board of tesco, to ask why his mum, (who is a shelf-stacker at tesco) doesn't have any money to buy groceries at tesco, and had sold all his toys to shop at poundland .....and getting "Blow me f*** face. Go to hell. I'm sick of you." Edited January 10, 2010 by Negativland
