anny road Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 team? Cavalieri Darby.....Carra....Skrtel....Doss El Zhar....Aurelio...Spearing..Babel Pacheco....N'gog or something
CarraLegend Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 It'll be nearly a full team I think. No need to change much, keep the momentum going.
Hassony Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 It'll be nearly a full team I think. No need to change much, keep the momentum going. Torres might be rested, but I think it will be a strong team
Andy @ Allerton Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I'll be very disappointed if it isn't a very strong team..
anny road Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Reina wont playSomeoen has to play right backLucas wont play (one game away from suspension with Spurs coming up and Masch suspended)Cant see AA or Torres playing
Dan Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Reina wont playSomeoen has to play right backLucas wont play (one game away from suspension with Spurs coming up and Masch suspended)Cant see AA or Torres playing I reckon AA will play. Should be playing anyway.
Cunny Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Torres may be rested but I'm expecting a strong team. I certainly hope so, I fancy a weekend down south in May.
anny road Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I reckon AA will play. Should be playing anyway. i just cant see it
Rory Fitzgerald Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Reina Carra Skrtel Agger Insua Benayoun Aquilani Gerrard* Babel Kuyt Ngog *Given what Anny Rd said about Lucas being a game away from suspension
Tommy Cockles Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 madness if Torres plays. and Gerrard for that matter.
Maldini Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 madness if Torres plays. and Gerrard for that matter. Agree, put em on the bench in case you need em but I'd have Ngog up front with Pacheco behind him and a midfield pairing of Spearing and Aquilani
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I'd be tempted to rest Carra for this one given he could be an option at RB against Spurs (depending on Degen and whether he fancies actually playing at some stage). Rest Torres/Reina but other than that play the strongest side.
Chili Palmer Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) I think bar Lucas, with the suspension hanging over him, i'd play our strongest team. Too much stop starting this season, keep the winning run going. Edited January 1, 2010 by Chili Palmer
Andy @ Allerton Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 madness if Torres plays. and Gerrard for that matter. Madness? Surely we want to try and win the FA Cup now given that the 'Champions' League has gone this season? Rest Carra, Kuyt, Torres, Gerrard, Benny. If we're going to be that stupid, we may as well put the under 18s on or something.
Earl Hafler Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Madness? Surely we want to try and win the FA Cup now given that the 'Champions' League has gone this season? If we're going to be that stupid, we may as well put the under 18s on or something. CL qualification is a must
Rory Fitzgerald Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Normally I am one of the first to say 'rest everyone' but not this time - as full strenght as possible and definitely Aqualad
CarraLegend Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Theres no need to rest anyone, the best thing for 4th place would be building momentum in the other competitions. Confidence is the biggest thing there is, lets build it up.
Tones Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Theres no need to rest anyone, the best thing for 4th place would be building momentum in the other competitions. Confidence is the biggest thing there is, lets build it up. Yeah we need to get a run of wins going and build up some confidence. Confidence has cost us this season, with 2 wins in a row, we need to get this one and keep it going. Strong team required, wouldnt play Lucas, AA needs games. Anyone fit plays.
stressederic Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 We've got over a week before the Spurs game so we can probably afford to stick a decent team out.
Earl Hafler Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 We've got over a week before the Spurs game so we can probably afford to stick a decent team out. There are a couple of players who desperately need a rest. Add to that recent injury problems for Gerrard and Torres and i can't see the need to risk it. CL qualification is the most important thing in this clubs recent history. After that the UEFA and FA cups are a bonus, and in that order.
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 It's a given for me that AA starts. Perfect game to continue with his match fitness against some yard dogs.
Rimbeux Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Understand the calls to rest the injured main two men, but there is a big case for needing the FA Cup to keep heads up and something to look forward to winning, plus we're still trying to recover some sort of form and confidence and keep a run going. An exit could really hurt us
