New York Red Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 We haven't done this in a few years. Can we get some opinions for each position? Who are your top three (in order) in every position. It would be great to find out some ones to watch for the future too. 1. Pepe Reina2. Iker Casillas3. Edwin van der Saar One to watch: Sergio Asenjo -- supposed to be exceptional and only about twenty
New York Red Posted December 27, 2009 Author Posted December 27, 2009 Any young ones to watch for? I love searching for relatively obscure matches and looking for good players. Evra and Cech always stuck in my mind from years ago.
Sion Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Any young ones to watch for? Igor AkinfeevManuel NeuerSergio RomeroHugo LlorisBen Foster
muleskinner Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Begovic at Portsmouth looks like he could become a very good keeper.
New York Red Posted December 27, 2009 Author Posted December 27, 2009 Begovic at Portsmouth looks like he could become a very good keeper. He did look good. Great reactions. Serbian?
Cam Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 1. Pepe Reina2. Iker Casillas3. Edwin van der Saar ReinaCasillas BuffonThree from those four would certainly make up the top 3. Cech ought to be amongst them but he's been in poor form for two full years now - that's more than a blip.
goodrobotusses Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 He did look good. Great reactions. Serbian? Canadian.

Stevie H Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 julio cesar has a case for the top three. lad akinfeev looks excellent, hope the mancs or chelsea don't go for him or they could have their reina.

_00_deathscar Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Average, average, average. But young. Very young. He'll grow to become a top keeper one day.
Benzo-13 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 julio cesar has a case for the top three. lad akinfeev looks excellent, hope the mancs or chelsea don't go for him or they could have their reina.I'm hoping that either don't get Adler or Neuer. They're incredible for their age.
Cam Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 But young. Very young. He'll grow to become a top keeper one day.Very, very, very young. I can't believe he isn't given more credit for all he's achieved in the game given his unbelievably young age. He should be held up as an example to chavvy youths of today... like Pitt the Younger, Miley Cyrus and Doogie Howser MD. He's only 26, nearly 27. Young enough for his mum to dress him.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 But young. Very young. He'll grow to become a top keeper one day. cf. Kirkland, Carson, Robinson, Hart, Wright and of course the ever young Almunia
Sion Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Average, average, average. I probably wasn't being serious you know.
mojo_80 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 julio cesarpepecassilasbuffon no one else comes close to these 4 (apart from young foster of course)
