It must just be a complete co-incidence that all their biggest f*** ups just happen to benefit one or two sides then?

Indeed Andy. And of course the same co-incidence that means that only 2 of the 4 teams playing today have to turn around and play again on Tuesday. Guess which 2 don't play til Wednesday ?

Of course this suits us, but it is a blatant display by the FA Premier League of how the big clubs are favoured.

I get we're playing Villa on telly and Arsenal are on live wed, but it's dodgy on the surface that Bolton and Hull play Tue night and Man U get to play Wigan on Wed. Everyone but ourselves Arsenal, Pompey, Bolton and Man U have to play two games in three days, any serious explanation?

How bleedin; ironic! It's a real wonder that refs are criticised isn't it? I mean, who wouldn't want to work hard to get right to the top of his profession; earn a tiny fraction of the wages of the players he's in control of; have every move, decision and level of fitness scrutinised by all and sundry from every angle and risk the wrath and ire of the swelling ranks of fans questioning your parentage and/or your sexual proclivities? It's a mystery to me why the brightest and sharpest in the land don't want to take up that career, it certainly is.

It'll always seem like that cos we've polarised opinions towards the Mancs, though I do feel they robbed us last season.

I liked the way Dowd rollocked Dunne & Arshavin today - like a teacher telling off two naughty schoolkids; excellent reffing.

I quite like Dowd. He's like Poll used to be; consistent but usually makes 1 major feck-up every few weeks. I can live with that. To me it's better than 10 or 12 minor mistakes in every match.

There are 1 or 2 in Italy that look to be decent, 1 in Spain and that guy who reffed the CL final last year is pretty good.

I have yet to see a truly decent British ref. For me, all they have to be is fair and consistent in how they apply the rules.

I have watched a few games from the lower tier of English footy and there are no decent refs coming from that league any time soon.
