10 changes from a winning team for the game at Old Trafford. f***ing disgraceful. With the way some teams approach games at Old Trafford it's like United have a 10-point advantage before the season has even started

Alternatively, one could speculate that when Mick McCarthy saw that Man Utd had brought along their own referee, he decided what's the point putting out his best players when the result is already been pre-determined.

I just cant comprehend why after their best win of the season, confidence sky high, Man Utd coming off a home defeat he's just gone and given up before kick off. They're playing to stay in the premier league and yet are throwing points away in the premier league.

Truly bizarre. And if he thinks the first teamers are gonna be super motivated next time out I think he's going to be in for a big surprise.

I feel sorry for the Wolves fans who have travelled to that s*** hole city and forked out money on travel + tickets to watch what is effectively a reserve side getting pummeled by the mancs.

McCarthy should be ashamed of himself, not only that he is giving manchester united an unfair advantage towards the title, but that he has completely disregarded the Wolves fans. They should demand their money back.

Agree with all of that.

I'm rooting against the pricks every week from now on.

Ya, I've gone from half admiring their effort/approach to feeling much the same as you.

Hope the karma police come back and get them for this at the season's end.

It's not like we or near every other club haven't done similar in the league in recent years

That's not true.

Can't remember us putting out the reserves in the league because we felt we had absolutely no hope of winning the game.

We have rested players when they needed it, or a big game was coming up in Europe etc

But TEN f***ing changes because you feel you simply can't win.

There's no way you can say 'near every other club' has done that in all fairness.

You seriously think the Premiership will do anything ?

Just a bunch of suits with little interest in football

Its the circumstances I find weird. They've given up on points in a league they're apparently trying to stay in.

You can say "Man Utd would have won anyway" but they drew with Reading and Newcastle when they were woeful, it aint completely out of the question they could have fluked a draw.

Plus a lot of their players probably see this as their biggest game of the season, im sure Kevin Doyle certainly did and yet they're just left out, I think this might backfire spectacularly.

Their reasons may be different but mass changes for a league game with an eye on the next fixture are not unusual. 10 is extreme, but changing well over half the side happens a lot and has pretty much been cleared by the PL. What difference does it make if you've done it because you've got a CL semi final following or a 'six-pointer'?

Kevin Doyle would have been dying to play in this one.

Then, in fairness, any footballer worth his salt would be.

I don't think the premier league need to do anything, just saying it's really a disgrace and Wolves fans, more than anyone, should be rightly pissed off.

I'm a bit surprised at McCarthy.

That I agree with, and that's McCarthy's biggest risk, he'll get a bit of attention for this and it will carry on to the next game. I remember Villa going on a slump after O'Neill all but gave up the UEFA cup after the players were bought back early to qualify for it

I hope Burnley t*** them at the weekend. What's the point of getting promoted of getting to a point where you can play at Old Trafford against United and f***ing capitulating before the match has even started? Why not just stay in the Championship and play s*** teams every week? Why bother with any of the ambition?

I take your point, but you are also right when you say 'extreme'.

This wasn't a calculated gamble, this game was thrown. It really was.

Gutless stuff. And do ten wolves players really need a rest? I think this could backfire on him.

Suppose the world we live in now, they win next weekend he's a great fella, they lose and he's an idiot.

I think he's an idiot no matter what happens.

As someone else has pointed out, he can't make any calls on other teams if it comes down to the wire for Wolves now.

To hand the game over *before* the game is played in such manner and to field a team with that many changes is shameful.

Criminal, more like. How can any manager defend making 10 changes which massively weakens his team. Does he think he's Chelsarse Utd in the league cup?
