from opening of the transfer window!!!!!

Sales. Babel? Voronin? Dossena? Skrtel? Marscherano?

Purchases. A striker? A left midfielder? A centre back?

Nobody is beating me to it this year. :woohoo:

if we're playing Footie Manager here, versus the likelihood of no cash (or indeed no re-investment of cash made), then our pressing needs are Left Back, Centre Back and a Forward (who can play right up top or a little deeper/wider if needed). Who ? f*** Knows

Out ?

Dossena, Voronin, Babel, and either Skirt or the Greek.

If we have to sell to buy then I suppose Dossena, Babel and Voronin wouln't be missed, doubt they'd raise much. I certainly wouldn't let them go out on loan with our squad so thin.

we cant afford to let anyone go. we need people to arrive though

i'd have a look at Miroslav Klose

You wouldn't sell Babel and Dossena to fund a move for Klose ?

I wouldn't sell anyone, apart from Voronin, as it is clear he has no part to play in the squad if he can't get on the bench when we have one fit striker and he's a kid.

Babel and Dossena can add something to team, maybe not much, but I'd rather have them than have no-one.

Selling Babel and Doss for Klose is fantasy and not going to happen.

From Here:

Liverpool today announced contract extensions for Pepe Reina and Javier Mascherano.

Managing Director Chris Purslow confirmed "Liverpool football club is delighted to have completed negotiations on contracts extensions for Javier Mascherano and Pepe Reina. These are two world class players who are only going to get better, so we are delighted that they will be spending the best years of their career at Liverpool".

Purslow went on to explain how despite Liverpool's champions League failure, funds for the contract extensions were raised by selling Andrea Dossena, Fabio Aurelio, Ryan Babel, Andriy Voronin, Sotirios Kyrgiakos, Philip Degen, Diego Cavalieri and Nabil El Zhar. Nobody wanted Plessis. Purslow claimed that "Although Rafa will not have any additional money to spend, having Mascherano and Reina sign new contracts is like signing 2 new players."

On a day where the good news for Liverpool continued, months of press speculation was ended when Nathan Eccleston agreed new contract. Eccleston, who made his first team debut in the champions league came away to Lyon signed a new deal that will keep him at Anfield until at least 2010. Daniel Pacheco, Lauri Dalla Valle and Martin Kelly were released in order to make funds available for the new deal.

Sales: Voro, Babel (loan), Dossena

In: Reina and Aurelio get new contracts

yes, this. we'll get maybe a million for voronin and perhaps three and a half back on dossena. it's a fire sale and people will know it.

3.5M for Dossena? We wish. We'll get 2M.

i was being a wee bit optimistic there i admit. we might even have no choice but to take loan deals for all three of them.

We clearly need a striker. Perhaps two. And maybe a winger.

I'm wondering if the £20M (Promised) + £20M (Keane money) + £35M (Alonso money) + £3.5M (Arbeloa Money) is going to be available to the manager. You'd guess that he should have some extra funds as well to tide him over (Most managers of the higher clubs seem to get a little going their way).

I'm more than happy to move a few players on like Voronin (Still don't think he's as bad as made out - certainly not a top-class player, but with confidence you never know.. Can't see us getting much and he was a free signing anyway I think), Babel (I like to support the players through thick and thin - but I really don't like this lads attitude and I don't think he'll ever amount to anything at Liverpool - time to get rid - hopefully not less than £7-8M), Dossena (Bit of a strange purchase, if we can get £5M for him that would be good).

However, as some have already said - I think we'll sell the above three and then that £10M*+ will vanish into the Owners christmas ale fund.

*There really are clubs stupid enough out there to pay well over the odds on average players.
