john_lfc Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Known a Liverpool manager to finish the season in 2nd place and start the next with an even weaker squad? Getting a joke this now, as much as i have supported Rafa, he has got to take most of the blame for this. Look at the quality he has let go, and look at the s**** on the field today.. Lucas, El Zhar, Riera f***ing joke.

Getting a joke this now, as much as i have supported Rafa, he has got to take most of the blame for this. What did Rafa do wrong last summer? Maybe he was being stubborn and decided all on his own that he was going to weaken the squad. I bet he had tonnes of money that he refused to spend. The b*****d.
Dominus Maximus Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Could have not thrown 35 mil after Johnson and Aquilani. Not saying that was the right thing to do, not saying I don't back Rafa, because I do. But he could have spent his 35 mil different.

Lucas, El Zhar, Riera f***ing joke. we only lost 2 players from last season and 1 was replaced by a much better player, the other by a bench warmer, or so it seems. what has killed us this season? INJURIES, and no viable back ups for the injured players. in reality, we have a paper thin squad with too many average, or below avewrage, players.
Zoob Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I think he should have forced unhappy players to stay at the club. Should have lied to Hyypia about the number of games he'd play to trick him into signing a new contract. Also should have given another contract to Pennant, who has been setting La Liga on fire with his goals and assists. Plus, I think he should have asked really nicely (pretty please with a cherry on top) to be given the Keane money to spend.

Not saying that was the right thing to do, not saying I don't back Rafa, because I do. But he could have spent his 35 mil different. I honestly think he thought he had more money to spend when he commited to buying these 2 players. Steptoe and son shafted him when they cancelled his line of credit.

Not saying that was the right thing to do, not saying I don't back Rafa, because I do. But he could have spent his 35 mil different. If he had been allowed to complete his summer spendings, then we would be in this situation now. He bought Johnson and Aquilani first and lost out on, say, Silva and Villa (or whoever he had deals in place for). He could easily have bought Silva and Villa first, the owners then took the money away from him to service the debt, and the deals for Johnson and Aquilani would have fell through and you would be on here saying 'why didn't he buy a right back and another midfielder - it's all Rafa's fault.' The owners have dealt him a s***ty hand - or have we all of a sudden forgotten about that?

Bad decisions in the transfer market, bad coaching...?
larry31 Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 my gripe is that he starts kuyt every game atm, he shouldnt be anywhere near the team on his form. ngog should have started upfront.
JonShar Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Balls - Johnson has been one of our best players this season, and anyone over the age of 12 knows that Aquilani will be judged on the next year and a half, he's a bloody import... and an injured one at that. Losing Alonso hurt. Can't think of anyone else we should have bought this summer, not even everyone's darling Gareth Barry... who by the way has been w*** for City so far this season.
fred milne Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 What did Rafa do wrong last summer? After he signed Johnson he should have told Alonso he was under contract and was going nowhere for at least 12 months.
Red Kent Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 I honestly think he thought he had more money to spend when he commited to buying these 2 players. Steptoe and son shafted him when they cancelled his line of credit. So you honestly think or you honestly know. It's an important point, because if you honestly think then it's opinion and not fact. So when did they cancel his line of credit and what amount was it ?

Sion Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 It's not the players ability. It's their confidence and the tactics. Not good enough. Too conservative, they look like they don't know what they're doing. Something's changed from the last 3 months of last season...and it's more than just losing Alonso.

So when did they cancel his line of credit and what amount was it ? I said that I honestly think, so that would seem to indicate that this is a thought of mine. Had I said I honestly know, I would have offered some sort of proof. I am off out now to look at couches and sofas, loads of fun.

I wonder what that could be Sion ? Global Warming ?Credit Crunch ?House prices ? Or could it be, nah it couldn't be the manager could it ? Ofcourse not, it's the owners fault.

I think some of the players are disillusioned with what happened in the summer (with the lack of incoming players where they were needed)That's certainly the owners fault.
Dominus Maximus Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 After he signed Johnson he should have told Alonso he was under contract and was going nowhere for at least 12 months. True. Stupid Arby's not even playing regularly in stupid Madrid.

Lucas, El Zhar, Riera f***ing joke. Riera and El Zhar have figured no more this season than did last season. Which leaves Lucas. Clearly he isn't as good as Alonso but then I don't think he was ever intended to be a direct replacement or to figure as much as he has done because we'd have hoped that Aquilani would be well back by now. Which means that essentially, your post boils down to a regurgitation of the same old 'Should we burn Rafa for buying a crock' debate that ahs been done to death already and is already being discussed in a thread about two down from this one. Absolutley nothing to see here.

That's fine if that's what you think. The players may well be disillusioned, I'm leaning to think that they are more disillusioned with whats going on in the dressing room and on the park rather than what happens off it.
