baros was a bloody infuriating player wasn't he?

aye, he was infuriating to watch...

to borrow a phrase...running like a headless chicken towards the corner flag and get bumped off the ball easily and didn't get a corner

That is harsh. On his day Baros was the proverbial 'handful' for any defence. He gave Juve a torrid time in that seminal Anfield tie. He always looked the part at international level, but for us he was way too inconsistent. I think he was close to having the attributes of a top player and you could see how scouts at picked up on him as 'one to watch' when he was a kid, but ultimately he was held back by his inability to lift his f*cking head.

he looked a completely different player for the czech republic, that's one of the things that made him so annoying. that and the fact that he never learned to play with his f***ing head up, aye. basic stuff. the ostravan huckerby.

Horrible performance but on paper much more 'horrible' was our team that somehow won last week's Derby ? I'd rather watch the 03 midfield and attack than 'Lucas, Aurelio, Masch and Kuyt'', rugged as that quartet is.

Cisse is the top scorer in the greek league this season

Had we won that game, Chelsea wouldn't of been bought as an insurance policy, and a high profile vehicle to keep him in the spotlight, by the Russian, although he might of bought Spurs, but the real downside was Chelsea were days, if not hours from going bust, from Bates' elaborance to keep Chelsea above their true standing, and it nearly backfired. Shame.

It was after that game that Terry said he would love to join us and told his agent to do the deal. Then all the money came in and he stayed.

I remember seeing him after the game shaking hands with gh and I remember thinking to my self that it looked more than just a hand shake

I think it was in Thommos book that said the deal was all but done on that day.

I liked Baros but for some reason I will always remember him for pretending to ask Garcia to take a corner but actually touching the ball, allowing Garcia to run in to the box, the c*** of a ref blew up. first time I'd seen that (giggs and rooney did it last season as well)

that's down to Lee Mavers

they could have been bigger than Oasis

back on topic: I've come to the conclusion that scorers are hated on this forum
