CarraLegend Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 It will be absolutely packed as Brazil's most supported team Flamengo go for the win they need to confirm the title. Their most recent home game : Its the last game of the season. Table is : Flamengo 64 Internacional 62Palmeiras 62Sao Paulo 62 The trouble for the chasing pack is Flamengo are playing Inter's most hated rivals Gremio, a Gremio who also have nothing to play for. Given how fierce the rivalries are out there I cant see anything but Gremio bending over. Adriano is joint top scorer in the league. Fred and Ronaldo also going great though Ronaldo is often injured or suspended. A bonus celebration for Flamengo could be that Fluminense or Botafogo get relegated. The standard is pretty woeful really, the league is filled with players who have failed to make it in Malaga reserves, Bulgaria, Japan etc all over the world but theres still a few gems and some of the atmospheres are insane.
CarraLegend Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 On betfair or 365 at 7 for anyone who wants to check out the insane atmosphere.
Jarg Armani Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Nice one, those videos are bananas, I'd love to go there. Might have a shufty at the match on 365.
floyd Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Flamengo always remind me of that Toyato Cup match in 1981 with the great Zico playing for them.
Internationinteroperability Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Grêmio fielded an under-strength side, and, apart from history, nothing suggested that Lucas Leiva's former team would cause an upset. Grêmio are absolutely abysmal away from home. In fact, I think they have the worst away record in the Serie A! Game ended 2-1 and everyone's happy! MENGÃO CAMPEÃO!!!
Davvo Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Flamengo always remind me of that Toyato Cup match in 1981 with the great Zico playing for them. Did we lose that 3-0 ? If so, the main thing I remember about that was watching Bo Derek in "10" on a dodgy old B&W portable whilst waiting for it to start. I've still never seen that in colour, the film not the game Thinking about it, was it not also on in the middle of the night ? That doesn't make sense with Tokyo being only about 8 hours ahead ? Would mean the game must have been played late morning or lunch time, or my memory is nonsense.
surf Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 this is brilliant Brazil robbers steal $6m during football season finale
CarraLegend Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 Coritiba supporters didnt take to kindly to getting relegated! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=278gdv-cYOU

Davvo Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I thought it was the The Stud that was on before it. Don't remember anything about the game though Ah yes, remember that being a pre-game one too. I could be confused between Flamengo and Independiente, but those 2 films go with those 2 games in some order, certain of that. Independiente was closer, 1-0 perhaps? I don't suppose you can still check tv schedules for that far back
Davvo Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 excellent, wikipedia has the answers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intercontinental_Cup_(football) That solves the mystery of why I could only remember us being in it twice back in the day too. Declined to play in 77 and 78, presumably as it was 2 legs ? Forest declined in 79 too, before it became a one off match in Tokyo from 1980. As for the films, according to imdb, "10" was released 1979, and The Stud 1978, so Im guessing you're right Roegahn, Stud for Flamengo, 10 must have been the Independiante game. I remember Flamengo had the likes of Zico, Socrates, Junior playing I think. They t****** us, and we were lucky to get 0 . Just remember being amazed at the quality of their team.
floyd Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 (edited) I remember Flamengo had the likes of Zico, Socrates, Junior playing I think.part of the best international team I ever saw. Damn you Rossi, damn you to hell (although it later produce Tardelli's celebration, the most beautiful celebration, ever). 1982 quite simply, the best ever World Cup. Edited December 8, 2009 by floyd

Gunga Din Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 part of the best international team I ever saw. Damn you Rossi, damn you to hell (although it later produce Tardelli's celebration, the most beautiful celebration, ever). 1982 quite simply, the best ever World Cup. Tardelli was apparently shouting his own name as he run off celebrating the goal in the stylee of the school playground when been you add your own commentary. makes it even better knowing that
