allawee Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 In a world where the words Legend, Great, World Class, Super Star, Role Model are well overused, Stevie deserves to be called every one of these if not more. Except for the summer following Istanbul (where it was not his fault entirely but Parry had his own agenda), he has been a great servant for the club. It will be tragic if he finishes his career without a PL medal.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 A goal on Saturday makes it a clean 1 in 4.
Conrad Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Best player to ever play for Liverpool Football Club.
Andy @ Allerton Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Best player to ever play for Liverpool Football Club. He's up there with the best, but he's nowhere near Kenny Dalglish.
MarkD Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 He's up there with the best, but he's nowhere near Kenny Dalglish. He is. well done Stevie.
Conrad Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 He's up there with the best, but he's nowhere near Kenny Dalglish. I agree its incredibly close, but I think Kenny played generally in a stronger team, and obviously won a lot more, particularly in terms of the league. There have been times though when Steven has had to single-handedly drag us out of the mire. I loved the King, and until 2 years ago I would have had him ahead of Steven... But the way he has evolved his role and his link up play with Torres, as well as his goal scoring, it's incredible really. He's basically managed to combine some of the best elements of Souness and Dalglish into his game. And great though the King was, he wouldn't have been able to play to such a high level say in central mid. as I say, it's a close call, but Steven's all round versatility edges it for me.
Jarg Armani Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Couldn't replace him with any other player. He's the best link player in the world and what takes the piss is, he can play everywhere else too.
johngibo YPC Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 This is Andy, chaps. Its up to Andy if he wants to rate Dalglish higher. But he's certainly the best player i've seen play for LiverpoolAs Jarg said he could probably perform well any position outfield. There is no other player in the world that i can think of that you could say that about. He'd be the best right back in world footballStill a moody c*nt mind Oh and if you think Andy is bad i noticed yesterday that that g******* off the Liverpool-kop website is even worse. Slags Gerrard off at any opportunity and doesn't have him in this best Liverpool 11. Fair enough i thought, he had a good team, but then he didn't even have him on the bench! He had Ronnie Whelan instead!!
Des Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Its up to Andy if he wants to rate Dalglish higher. Yes, but saying Gerrard is "nowhere near " Kenny?
anny road Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 all things considered I think its Kenny But its close You cant ignore his impact on and off the park
Jacks Jackie Jackson Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Dalglish was better than Steven Gerrard but Gerrard still has the opportunity to be greater. Those who say Gerrard is the best player ever to play for Liverpool Football Club are making the mistake of too easily discounting some some incredible candidates. Billy Liddell for one, just off the top of my head.
