Sami Hyypia's Leverkusen etended their lead in the Bundesliga today by trouncing VfB Stuttgart 4 - 0.

Markus Babbel's team plunge to second bottom and the guy's job must now be under threat after a year in charge.

i watched leverkusen against bayern munich last weekend here and sami hyypia was the best player on the pitch.

yeah i watched that too, they usually get absolutely snotted at bayern, he's definitely making the difference for them.

We were sh*t at defending set pieces and aerial balls until Hyypia arrived in 1999, soild for ten years while he was here and now we've got sh*t again since he's left.

It really is that simple too and to be fair, much as he's a prick and I can't stick him, the same happened when we signed/sold Ruddock.

f***ing hell murph, with Ruddock in the team we were woeful at defending corners

TBF to him, he was the only c*** capable of heading it away for us so I'd exempt him from criticism but no way did he have the hyypia impact

Scales and Babb were a f*cking disaster in the air, Ruddock would get his head on everything, don't forget Sutty that was very much back in the long ball days of Wimbledon and co., Ruddock could stand up to the likes of Fashanu. Not saying for one minute he was as good as Sami or for that matter Henchoz but he was good in the air.

Hyypia one of the most professional players we've ever had compared to Ruddock, who is the complete opposite

When he was at Swindon he couldn't get a pair of shorts to fit his big fat arsse, and when I found out about the 'pound' (something he instigated) it really said it all for me.

For all his other failings, Ruddock was awesome in the air actually. Wasn't that tall either, had a great spring for a fat c*nt.

Sami captained Leverkusen last night.

Watched the last half hour of that game - exciting finish.

He'll be disappointed with that last gasp equaliser to be honest, ball was right in his zone for heading away.
