badtodabone Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 that we are having a terrible season and our manager could be sacked ,spurs are having a great season and their manager is a genius . and yet they only have 3 points more than us?
stressederic Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 'Appy 'Arry. He loves a 3 point gap, he really does.
crisps Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) Because they are over achieving at the moment, we have been s**** quite a lot. Edited November 29, 2009 by crisps

Hassony Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 that we are having a terrible season and our manager could be sacked ,spurs are having a great season and their manager is a genius . and yet they only have 3 points more than us? its because Rafa has spend £3.5 billions, while spurs and redknapp have had to do it on a shoestring
Zoob Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 its because Rafa has spend £3.5 billions, while spurs and redknapp have had to do it on a shoestring Redknapp is a wheeler dealer. picks up most of his players at flea markets and car boot sales.
Hassony Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Redknapp is a wheeler dealer. picks up most of his players at flea markets and car boot sales. great motivator and man manager, just look how Bentley, Bent and Pavichenko have played for him, while rafa failed with pennant and babel
Swipe Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 As much as Arry is a dodgy t***, our aspirations are quite rightly higher than Spurs. But Arry does whore himself to the media. Always gets an easy ride as a result.
floyd Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 On Spurs, we should have a bet with those tw4ts on the latest Betfair advert
badtodabone Posted November 29, 2009 Author Posted November 29, 2009 im not trying to slag off spurs or rednapp they are having a good run ,just the media hype about us struggling to get 4th place this year seems a bit premature dosnt it if we are 5th and playing crap with a load of injuries
richwilks Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 People expected us to be challenging we've been s*** a large chunk of the season. Spurs we're expected to challenge the top 4 and are. The difference is that Rafa gives the media nothing where as Redknapp will give them anything he can. The media love that.
badtodabone Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 it will break their hearts when we get third place

Leo No.8 Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) Redknapp is clearly doing a far better job considering the jowls he has to contend with. Can you imagine trying to give a team talk with all those wobbly bits around your chin and neck flopping and flapping about, slapping you in the eye and sometimes even applauding spontaneously? Spurs would be five points clear if not for those bad boys. Considering the jowl related conditions he's having to deal with, Harry Redknapp is doing a quite astonishingly good job. Flight Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 that we are having a terrible season and our manager could be sacked ,spurs are having a great season and their manager is a genius . and yet they only have 3 points more than us? Arsenal are only two points ahead of us, but Wenger has been lauded all season by the press. Most of the papers, including the 'quality' ones, are a joke in this country. Though the Times coverage is looking up.
Tobes Rafa Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 it will break their hearts when we get third placeI'm thinking that too.
richwilks Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 I don't understand where Spurs get all their money from. They spend insane amounts given that they have never qualified for the Champions League and they don't have a big ground bringing in endless revenue like Arsenal.

London gate receipts allbeit with not the biggest ground. Maybe a generous owner(s).

RedMarauder Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Spurs bought lots of kids, worked them down the mines, up chimneys, helped them grow some balls and then sold them on for double the tuppence 'apeny they paid. They then brought in a geezer, wheeler dealer who has magic beans and who can get the best out of a team, even though he is always down to the bare bones. He is a top top manager.....
richwilks Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) Apparently Spurs have spent £150m in 18 months, no idea what they've had incoming. I suppose they had £18m for Keane, £10m for Bent, £30m for Berbatov. Edited November 30, 2009 by richwilks
Spion kop Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Because they are spurs and we are Liverpool. Simple, Big clubs are expected to do more.
Gomez Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Because they are spurs and we are Liverpool. Simple, Big clubs are expected to do more. Although this is undoubtedly true, it is still unfair on Rafa. Should the manager be judged on the fans expectations, or his employers? Clearly as fans we aspire to win the league or European Cup and 'expect' a strong challenge. The actions of the summer demonstrate that is not what the owners expect or aspire to. Clearly they will never say that in public, but neither would Spurs' owners. We have to judge each on their actions, not spin. The financial backing Rafa gets from the owners is of the level of 5th or below (in terms of transfer outlay and wage bill) so anything above that is over-achieving. We as fans may not like it, and we certainly shouldn't accept it, but ultimately, that is all Rafa can be fairly judged on.
DJS Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 that we are having a terrible season and our manager could be sacked ,spurs are having a great season and their manager is a genius . and yet they only have 3 points more than us? Because they're Spurs and we're Liverpool. I had a Spurs supporting mate of mine lording it over me the other day, and i just told him that's the difference between a massive institution like LFC and a two-bit bunch of nobodies like Spurs. If they get a top 4 finish, it'll be street parties and their biggest achievement in decades. For us, it's the bare minimum requirement.
