Cisse Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 The Bellamy tackle on Kuyt at the end wasnt a pen. Player first....
carrafan Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Player first.... ? Kuyt got past Zabaleta and the ball ran away from him for a bit and was there to be won. Bellamy got just ahead of Kuyt and shoulder barged him, Kuyt didnt have the ball under control.
Flight Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Pen was 50/50 but their second goal was offside.

smithdown Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Kuyt didnt have the ball under control. Not once. Head was up his ar5e today.
Stevie H Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 8 times of 10 it was a peno. but we didn't really deserve to win.

Stevie H Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Thought Kyriakos did better than that. And Ngog was very poor.tough though. kid doing a 4 years olders than him man's job. squad my a***.
Sion Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 And Ngog was very poor. won FK for first and crossed for 2nd. Wasn't the worst out there.
Barnesy_10 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Lucas was one of our best players... He was very good today. Kuyt was very poor and Gerrard was lazy.

carrafan Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 won FK for first and crossed for 2nd. Wasn't the worst out there. I know that he's only a kid and did well against Brum, but you're really clutching at straws when you use the 2nd goal as a plus point for him. It was a shot which deflected off their player and fell kindly for Yossi. I dont think Ngog sees himself as a targetman. He's constantly looking to run at defenders even though there is no red shirt 15 yards from him, although thats a good thing inside the box, he'll end up losing the ball very often like he did today if he's dribbling unnecessarily outside it. And i thought Lucas was poor too. Two glaring mistakes in the game isnt a good stat for a player whose playing in a limited role like what he is. Turns a 7/10 into a 5.
IcelandicFan Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 It´s different how you look at things. If Ngog wouldn´t have tried the shot, the ball would never have fallen for Benayoun ? In my opinion Ngog tried to control the ball inside the box and he tried to get a shot in, it didn´t go exactly like he planned but at least we got the goal from it. If Fat Frank wouldn´t try all these shots he wouldn´t get all these deflections, thus his goal scoring record wouldn´t be as good as it is...
Maldini Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Haha f***ing hell what the f*** did Lucas do wrong to get that score?? Ridiculous Didn't think he was 4/10 bad but he wasn't great today. Stood still as Ireland ran past him for the second and missed a sitter at the end.

Rory Fitzgerald Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I thought Lucas's overall play was good today. He was looking to get forward, was committed to tackles and used the ball well. I thought him and Mascher played well today - both of them performed better than they have been recently. The back line gave me the hebby-gebbies, was very glad City were cautious in the 1st half because the 2nd showed that they could get through our back line.

I'm not going to say this again, because I feel like I'm repeating myself at every opportunity, but...... I agree, both played well, they did their jobs admirably. However, they are both doing the same job, and we simply haven't got enough class/creativity in the other 4 midfield/forward spots to afford such luxury of 2 holding midfielders. Add Carra at fullback, and today more than most we were crying out for either Aquilani or Gerrard to be played instead of Lucas. I'm not saying we can't win with 2 holding mid's, of course we can, and indeed have done, but we're not going to pull away from 7th without a little more creativity from the middle.
Barnesy_10 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 If you notice, we started to be under more pressure only when Lucas got his yellow. Up till then he was brilliant at chasing the ball down.... Once he got the yellow he backed off. Gerrard was a massive disappointment for me..... Looks like he is sulking around the place.
McBain Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I thought all the outfield players were varying degrees of poor cept for Gerrard first half and Masch for the 90
