rjlfc Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Injuries, bad luck blah f****g blah. But the current state of affairs is a f****g disgrace for this club. For the umpteenth time this season we drop points through p**s poor defending and lack of guile. That team we had out there should have buried that poor team but we scraped a draw. We looked good until they scored their first, then it went to pot. Second half I can hardly recall Hart having to make a save. Yes we had 900% possession, but did f*** all with it. For a team at home, grabbing an equaliser with 15+ mins left, that is schite. As soon as a team puts men behind the ball, we're f***d. Don't get me started at the corner situation, it's a genuine complete and utter f*****g disgrace that proffesional footballers cant even cross the ball. Then when it does come in (once in a blue moon), we've got no-one, NO-ONE capable of beating another man in the air. Have you seen our players actually jump sideways when they attack the ball in the air from a corner. Just watch it next time. It's laughable. I genuinely believe we'd be better off handing over the ball for a goal kick, because the only purpose a corner serves us is to waste valuable seconds when we need to score. Insua is not good enough, simple as that. His attacking play is poor and I don't rate him defensively. Skrtel not playing well at all. Playing Ngog up top by himself is not good enough. This season Kuyt, for all his usual hard work, is having a poor season. Unfortunately he is undroppable. I'm sure some people will slate some of the points I've made on here, but 1 win in 9 is utter b****x. 11 off the top in November is just w**k. and its not all down to bad luck.
Toni Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 g*******! today brum scraped a point not us. we absolutely deserved 3 points today, we beated the s**** out of them for the whole match, ball just wouldnt go in. as for the whole season so far, granted we may some players off the mark, we do not have a good squad, but we have a very good first 11, and we all knew this going into the season. rafa knew it as well but did not have enough money to add more quality into the team. what could he do, eh??? to make matters worse the amount of injuries to key players were f***ing ridiculous so far, poor reserves and that may explain 1 win in 9 for you.
Paddy T. Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 And the crap corners aren't really anything new either. Can't remeber a decent corner the last 3 years without Sami involved...
Barnesy_10 Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 to make the same mistake so frequently is inexcusable.... teams must rub their hands with glee when they win a set piece. How many points have been dropped through s**** defending of set pieces?
matlfc Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Eh? Just got back now and we played brilliant. Completely unlucky. A lot of positives tonight. Ngog, Aqualani etc... Our football surpasses anything i have seen another team do in this league. Insua is a valid point and had a bad game again.

Cunny Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 we played well tonight, should have won by a cricket scorehowever, if you need 27 shots (14 on target) to score 2 and concede from 2 of your opposition's 3 on target shots - then it may not just be unluckyit's not the first time this season we dominate, don't take our chances and concede from the few chances our opponents get.frustrating but when it happens a few times, that's no coincidence or just bad luck

Nebraska Red Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 we have got to be more clinical in front of goal. we get a good goal and then spawn away half chances and clear chances. one player takes on one too many players and the chance goes away, not enough bodies challenging in the box and we are snuffewd out by 8 defenders. FFS if they have 8 back, why do we have 1 or 2 up, where the hell are the 5 or 6 Liverpool players with nobody to mark? Brum got a point tonight because we didn't have the balls to send more players into the box. how many times do we break out and the player with the ball has no Liverpool shirt near to him? yes, we played well tonight, but we are still playing scared when it comes to the final ball and showing 100% commitment to getting men in the box.

Really? We got forward plenty tonight. The most in a long time. Unfortunately the post and last ditch defending kept us out. We were very unlucky and i cant wait for us to get going on a run which will happen.
George Costanza Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 not scoring more isn't unlucky its just crap finishing. we played much better tonight than most games this season but when it takes a balatant dive to earn a point against a poor Birmingham side then you have to ask questions.
David Hodgson Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I thought we were really good tonight. The tragedy is that this result wasn't the 'blip', it's all that's preceeded it. Still, k think we're turning that corner now . Many plusses. Johnson looked world class, Ngog looked a seriously good forward, Lucas had his best game, Gerrard looked fit, and AA got some minutes.

Our football surpasses anything i have seen another team do in this league. Insua is a valid point and had a bad game again. Agree with that and agree Insua needs a break but injuies to Aurelio and Dossena means that inst going to happen. How anyone can look at that game and say things arent looking up is beyond me - its a question of confidence and its coming back slowly. our attacking play was superb at times, Ngog played better than Ive ever seen him play before, Johnson was a giant going forward, defensive frailties remain but I still thought agger had a good game, but attacking wise, once we get Stevie, Nando back and AA fully fit I think we'll be untouchable going forward. I reckon the 2 week break has come at the right time - 2 weeks to get players fit, build up AA and Aggers strength, win the first game after the break and I reckon we'll be unbeatable. CL progress may be beyond us but I think we're on the cusp of a very special run of results judging by the attacking play we saw in the last 30 minutes tonight. We just need that one win...
mick Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 t I think we're on the cusp of a very special run of results judging by the attacking play we saw in the last 30 minutes tonight. We just need that one win... If you can't do the basics in football i.e. defend than your're pretty much fuvked in terms of competing for trophies.
marse Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I thought we played well tonight and were very unlucky. But with 1 win in 9 games it has to be down to more than bad luck.
Cheesecake Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) confidence, and when it returns... maybe others luck is turning Cole injured the first of many with internationals coming up perhaps? Edited November 9, 2009 by DPD1973
Paul Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 We played well and should have won but when you give up goals as easily as we have recently, it's no surprise we're struggling. This set play vulnerability has been there for quite a while now, it concerning that no progress has been made to remedy the situation.
