I know, but I also don't think he'd take a stupid risk to put a nothing England game ahead of LFC. I suspect it was one of those where he he wanted to kid himself (pyschologocally) that he wasn't really injured, and perserved when he shouldn't have. I think he's a 'warrior' of a player and would not want to cry off for a pre-season friendly if he thought he might have a chance of playing.
