While I do agree with your sentiments to a certain degree you've pretty much hand-picked the worst players in our team and the best players in Juve's.

 

The s***tyness of Baros and particularly Riise is sometimes exaggerated on the this forum I feel. Wouldn't mind having Milan as backup striker ahead of a few others in our current squad. Riise, a long serving member of this club, played countless very good games for us. He did go a bit bad during his last years with us - we have definitely upgraded with Insua and Aurelio, but still...

 

I think Benayoun has become the replacement of Garcia that we hoped he would be. Took a season or two for him to reach that point but I'm quite happy with him now and he isn't a helluva lot worse than Garcia was back then.

What struck me is how differently you look at things now and then. Looking back now half of our team looks garbage while Juve seems to have a number of world-class players. But buck then, I remember thinking we had at least a 50 per cent chance going in to the tie. Kind of shows how boss Rafa, Stevie, Carra and Sami were.
