I don't honestly know if I watch different games sometimes. Thought Insua was decent considering he was the only one playing on the left hand side. Thought the centre of our defence looked as good as it has all season too, Carra was fine. Our midfield was shockingly bad, and I'm quite sure Kuyt has let Pennant's comments go to his head, cause he's been useless for the past 2 games.

Well, there were one or two exceptions, but I thought the team as a whole did their jobs for the first hour and we were in the ascendancy until Masch made the mistake.

 

We then had them pinned back for a good amount of time before the second as well.

 

I don't have any real concerns about the performance today. The result is annoying, but nothing that demonstrates underlying weaknesses or areas for major concern.

Like I said in the match thread, they weren't much and we were worse. They passed it and created half chances. We hardly kept the ball for more than two to three passes and then gave it the hoof. We created nothing for the most part.

Our squad is actually good enough, I didn't even think we played that bad today I thought as has been mentioned Mascherano's mistake cost us. That being said everytime they attacked our defense just looked on edge.

 

There is absolutely no shred of confidence in that defense.
