CarraLegend Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 is he banned for our game next week Yes, though he's s**** anyway
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Who replaced him today, Hilario ?
Sion Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Yes, though he's s**** anyway I know. But it's more the possible confidence ramifications to their defence that could be a bonus.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I know. But it's more the possible confidence ramifications to their defence that could be a bonus.I thhink it would give our attackers a little bit of a boost, get near the goal and we are looking to hit a target with a reserve keeper. Might encourage a few more shots.
Swagger Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Yes, though he's s**** anyway No, he isn't.
Rimbeux Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 No, he isn't. Gerrard hold him in some awe, which is counter productive
John Nada Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not as I've felt the past couple of seasons we've known how to rattle Cech big time.
Hassony Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 cech is s****, I think even gomes at spurs is a better keeper
Eiler99 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I really wanted Cech to play against us with the form he's shown in the last 18 months but anything that can help distabilize their defence is welcome. Torres will rip Terry a new one I reckon.
BG Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 He's not the keeper he was but us still far from s*** IMHO
Cam Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Hilario's crap but is the kind of 'keeper who will have a stormer against us then fall apart in his other games. Isn't Ashley Cole injured too? Sadly, Joe "always scores against us" Cole may be fit.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Just seen the highlights of the Chelsea game. If you think our defending is bad, look at the highlights; 1st half (with 11 players). - Lampard doesnt track player who runs out for the short corner so the Wigan player receives it and has an age to pick out Bramble. Drogba watched Bramble run on to it and score and didnt do a tap.- Another corner, exactly same thing, Lampard lets runner collect short corner, has an age and floats one to the back post, headed back and someone cracks the ball on the bounce but very close to Cech who saves it.- Jason Scotland (who) bullies Carvalho and gets the better of him a few times. Watch for Kirkland's howler for Drogba's goal
CarraLegend Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 None of the good teams are defending well, its really weird. Chelsea have been shocking for a while but kept getting away with it, it finally caught up with them.
theredfella Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 is he banned for our game next week They'll probably draft Chong in. They'll be one or two bodies light next week but after getting beat by a team like Wigan today, they'll be desperate to make amends. We'll certainly need our A game, especially down the flanks.
spk Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 don't count your chickens: Cudicini escapes ban Windass' challenge on Cudicini sparked a fracas Carlo Cudicini will not have to serve a ban after his sending off in Chelsea's FA Cup win over Middlesbrough on 4 January. The FA disciplinary committee upheld the decision of referee Mark Halsey to send off Cudicini after a clash with Boro striker Dean Windass. But it has decided the red card was punishment enough, and he will not need to serve a ban. The red card will also not count in the event of any further sending offs, meaning no extra suspension will be added on. "We are delighted that Carlo is not suspended, but a little disappointed that the red card wasn't withdrawn altogether," said Chelsea chief executive Trevor Birch. Cudicini would have missed this Saturday's trip to Manchester United and the FA Cup tie at Shrewsbury, plus the Premiership match against Leeds had he lost his appeal. Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri defended his keeper after the incident, which was sparked by Windass' challenge on Cudicini during the ill-tempered cup match. source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/2658069.stm
Dan Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Cech is a fantastic shot stopper. He's made the odd clangger since his accident but Chelsea are a worse team without him.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Webb got Chelsea last week.Dowd got them this week. Does that mean we can rule them out of reffing our game next week ?
Zoob Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Hilario's crap but is the kind of 'keeper who will have a stormer against us then fall apart in his other games. I fear that too. Has happened to us too many times before. Maybe we just notice it cos it's our team, but we seem to be the team reserve keepers play the games of their life against, as well as the team against whom strikers who never score, do score. The only way Terry and Carvalho will be able to play against Torres will be the dirty way. Carvalho is a master at getting away with stuff, and Terry, being the England captain is, like Rooney mostly exempt from the normal rules of football. And then of course there's Drogba...Will be interesting to see who the ref is, but being at Stamford Bridge, I'm sure he won't have the balls to stand up to what ever cheating tactics Chelsea are bound to employ.
Sion Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Terry, Ivanovic, Drogba, Ballack If they get a set piece at all, we're f***ed. Although knowing our luck, their smallest player on the pitch will score a header
Michael Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I can see Terry giving Torres a nasty whack early on and getting away with it.
Zoob Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 I can see Terry giving Torres a nasty whack early on and getting away with it. I can see him giving him nasty whacks the whole game and getting away with it - won't be the first time.
Ethan Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Webb got Chelsea last week.Dowd got them this week. Does that mean we can rule them out of reffing our game next week ? Have we had Clattenburg yet this season??
