Spirit Of Shankly Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) The Spirit of Shankly met with Christian Purslow prior to the Debrecen game and our questions and his answers are detailed on the following web page; http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/Christ...ng-Minutes.html Edited September 23, 2009 by sutty
Gravy Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) Fudged answers. A 15 year old doing GCSE Economics can work out that have raised more money than we spent in the summer, and not 20 million more than raised as he suggests. Why was he let off the hook? Just looks to me like an audience was given with him but not the ability to question his answers, especially the transfer one. I understood the whole purpose of the SOS was to get Americans out of the club, so when they had a chance to meet with their CEO was he not questioned about these "fudged" answers? Or did everyone decide just to accpet what he said and we can all moan about the answers on here Edited September 23, 2009 by Gravy
johngibo YPC Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Its a bit underwhelming that, to be honestwas expecting moreDid everything CP said just get accepted?
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) sounds like he took the wind right out of their sail with the "I wasn't expecting such detailed financial questions at a getting-to-know-you meeting" line. Edited September 23, 2009 by John
PeeG Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Its a bit underwhelming that, to be honestwas expecting moreDid everything CP said just get accepted? He was pushed on his answers as is seen on a few points by Graham (GS). This part is an important part In conclusion CP stated he wanted an ongoing dialogue and that he would welcome the opportunity of meeting on a quarterly basis, either in his office with the committee or at a broader group, with the SOS, was happy to attend a Management Committee meeting and would attend a mass meeting. So, he said he would be willing to come to a mass meeting, so hopefully we can get him to the next one and then he can be pushed more.
DanielS Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Its a bit underwhelming that, to be honestwas expecting moreDid everything CP said just get accepted? We're being way too polite with these people.
Leo No.8 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I'm appeased - hurrah for Hicks, Gillett and the good ship Kop Holdings!
Mike Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 slow down people - you don't want to get his guard up straight away. slowly slowly catchy monkey.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 We're being way too polite with these people. I don't know, it's probably right to be polite at the first meeting.
honourablegeorge Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 What a load of absolute s***. "We did spend 20m, honest" "Oh, allright then" It's the same bulls*** PR that was fed to the papers, blindly accepted.
DanielS Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I don't know, it's probably right to be polite at the first meeting. What's the point? We want one thing - his employers to f*** off. Not like we have a list of possible suggestions that if met would satisfy us to their suitability to continue as owners is it?
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 It's the same bulls*** PR that was fed to the papers, blindly accepted. don't think anyone has accepted anything, blindly or otherwise
Mike Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 jesus i can see you people are NOT skilled in negotiation or diplomacy as a means to get to your desired outcome.
PeeG Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I don't know, it's probably right to be polite at the first meeting. Agree. He was surprised how professional we were. Probably wouldn't have said he would come to a mass meeting otherwise.
theredfella Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Its a bit underwhelming that, to be honestwas expecting moreDid everything CP said just get accepted? I agree. Hope that the subsequent meetings take the little pygmy to task a lot more.
Chili Palmer Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Agree. He was surprised how professional we were. Probably wouldn't have said he would come to a mass meeting otherwise. It will be interesting to see if he follows through with that. Hope so.
Flasher Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 It's probably underwhelming because he's not the c**k people want him to be and he's able to prove that the conspiracy theories are just that. I still think he's the wrong target for aggressive action. This man should be used, not abused, IMO of course. I also think that SOS have a real opportunity to have a very significant impact on the club. With that in mind, i'd suggest they look long and hard at themselves and ask a simple question: have we got the right people at the top (within SOS) representing and speaking for us? I've no idea who the heads of SOS are, but if they're the right people, they've now got an excellent opportunity. That said, I still think SOS needs a figure head that will galvanise mass support, and yes, I do think that person should be well recognised by SOS' intended audience. It’s not possible now I know, but a perfect candidate would have been Dalglish, for example.
PeeG Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 It will be interesting to see if he follows through with that. Hope so. If not, it is something we can have a go at him for. Another reason these meetings work. We have minuted accounts of what was said, the club have verified it so now can not go back on what was said.
Gravy Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 jesus i can see you people are NOT skilled in negotiation or diplomacy as a means to get to your desired outcome. I do know that letting someone off the hook is bowing down - there were no direct questions about his answers. He must have been laughing when they left. Doesn't sound like he was remotely uncomfortable or quirming at all. Ask the CEO direct questions and accept his answers. You don't get to meet him every day and every day that pases is another with no answers. Opportunity gone begging
Gravy Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 If not, it is something we can have a go at him for. well that'll worry him then!!!

sutty Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 at the Dalglish suggestion Genuinely l.o.l.

CarraLegend Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Maybe some of the pricks on here mocking everything SOS do can get off their a*** and try something? Nah, thought not.
