Spirit Of Shankly Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 The Spirit of Shankly Supporters' Union met at The Olympia on Saturday to allow the Management Committee to launch its proposed direct action campaign to see the American "owners" removed from the Club. http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/EGM-Ou...an-Purslow.html
muleskinner Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 (edited) Hope these plans really kick off well now and get some results. Just a small pendantic comment, they spelt Kyrgiakos wrong on the leaflet. Looks good though. Edited September 14, 2009 by muleskinner
Spilly Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Leaflets, banners and chants? It's all been done and will have minimal short term effect. I'm sure it gives those involved a shot in the arm, but in terms of forcing two ruthless LBO merchants out of a profitable football brand, it's small fry and nothing they haven't dealt with before. Maybe they need a high profile front man and a bigger push behind the fan buy out or approaching prospective buyers/partners. It just seems like we're going round in circles without any real practical solutions - something they can say to the majority, look, this is the alternative. As it stands it still has the feel of an stuffy working mans club.
growler Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Keeping this going is worthwhile as its a reminder that we have not forgotten (a la the mancs) and they still have to deliver. If we don't do anything, they'll think they can do whatever they want. They need to know we are watching them and still close to breaking point.
DJS Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Do people honestly think they'll not just do what they want, regardless of what people say, chant and print on leaflets? The only thing they're bothered about is regular streams of cash. And ticket sales take care of that.

Will Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Apparently there was a march on Saturday - did anyone see it, or have any photos? Never noticed it myself...
Flasher Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 This is exactly the right approach. It will work, so long as momentum continues. Do it every game. Get people that are unclear on the situation to ask questions, wonder what's going on, and eventually the MAJORITY of fans will feel the same. Only then can real damage be done.

Chili Palmer Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 As soon as the AGM finished Purslow rang THEM and asked fror a meetingWhat does that tell you? Hopefully it means they carry some weight but the cynic in me thinks it might just be PR from Purslow.

They still must carry some weight or he wouldn't get any PRI don't think its a PR issue anyway. Ayres did the same and he didn't get any positive PR

johngibo YPC Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 sos have once again mislead the fans? What the f*ck are you banging on about now
fyds Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I hope SOS grasp the idea and fact that the future of Liverpool football club is far beyond a local issue or concern.
Redwire Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 And did anyone get a leaflet? Never saw one of those either. Yeah, I got one. There were quite a few held up round us during YNWA.
fyds Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Yeah, I got one. There were quite a few held up round us during YNWA.Have these been distributed to the media, perhaps with an unambiguous cover note?
