fyds Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Liked him before we bought him - just like him more now!
Kite Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Or are there still some idiots who think he's crap etc?Think this is a bit of a leading question, no?
johngibo YPC Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 He's literally the least of our worries
Andy @ Allerton Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 He's always been a very good player and some of our 'fans' wouldn't notice a good player unless Andy 'expert' Gray said "What a beauty son!!".
Red Lecter Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Always been a good player and even in his "off" season he wasn't as bad as people liked to make out.
YNWAdownunder Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 people get frustrated when we dont win and turn on kuyt becuase sometimes he seems like he is running around doing very little....but often its his pressure and touch of brilliance which wins games
charlie clown Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I've never disliked him but I was at a loss as to why he was seemingly undroppable a couple of seasons or so back. Blackburn away in (I think) Nov 07 he was absolutely awful.
Chili Palmer Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Love him, love everything about him, am thinking about being him for halloween.
matlfc Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Love him, love everything about him, am thinking about being him for halloween.
Beardsley Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Love him, love everything about him, am thinking about being him for halloween. That really made my day
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Love him, love everything about him, am thinking about being him for halloween. laugh of the day, that
Swipe Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Love him, love everything about him, am thinking about being him for halloween. Love him too. But it's not just a question of people coming around to him, is it? He's improved hugely in the last couple of seasons. His first touch for example is miles better than it used to be.

johngibo YPC Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Always been a good player and even in his "off" season he wasn't as bad as people liked to make out. He was proper awful at one point. And i like him
stressederic Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Those who do not love Dirk Kuyt do not truly love life Love him, love everything about him, am thinking about being him for halloween.
Red Lecter Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 (edited) He was proper awful at one point. And i like himYes, he had some bad games and went throught a dodgy period following on from the death of his father, but a lot of people were claiming he'd been s*** for most of the season and the season before that. It was only toward the very end of last season when they finally shut up. Edited September 7, 2009 by Sanj77
psl Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 Think this is a bit of a leading question, no? I don't really see how it could have been framed in a more impartial manner.
Sion Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 (edited) It was only the second season where i thought he wasn't up for it. Last season he was especially boss. Would happily have him as captain as well. Edited September 7, 2009 by Sion

His first touch is quite inconsistent if he's planning on taking multiple touches. He's seriously boss though.
kop205 Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Love him too. But it's not just a question of people coming around to him, is it? He's improved hugely in the last couple of seasons. His first touch for example is miles better than it used to be. Exactly. His attitude has never been less than admirable but he scored 3 League goals all season, and only one in open play, from centre forward in his second season. That just wasn't acceptable nor sustainable and I see no need to try to downplay just how much he struggled, or to claim that it was all to do with his dad, or that he was clearly going to come good in the end. Admitting just how much he struggled then, and for how long, in no way detracts from his bossness now. In fact it enhances it - I can think of very few players who have worked so hard to overcome their limitations, work at their game and show the mental fortitude to improve himself to that extent. The move out wide re-invented and saved him and I don't think you could find many if any players who offer the same workrate combined with goals from out there. He is behind only Torres, Gerrard and Reina for me in his importance to the side now.
Earl Hafler Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Always been a good player and even in his "off" season he wasn't as bad as people liked to make out. what was it someone said on here last season ? " He's been brilliant every second of every match " or some b******s like that. He's been s*** at times ( Even Dalglish and Barnes had s*** games ) and he's been brilliant
