beatstreet Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Pretty woeful for a top coach. For all his self pity whinging about funds, he's wasted huge amounts on players who were never good enough for LFC. It seems his own rigid methods dicate the type of players he goes for, meaning there's a never ending revolving door of dross that we lose money on or can't get rid of. After 6 seasons we're still relying heavily on a player who was already here when Benitez took the job, which says it all really. Whether he puts too much trust in scouts who are not up to the task is open to debate, reasoned or otherwise.

beatstreet Posted September 4, 2009 Author Posted September 4, 2009 Yeah, that's it. I know f*** all, obviously. That's why it never hit a nerve and why you were compelled to ignore it.

Please list all these players, with figures to back up your argument, so those of us who are less enlightened may learn and grow as people and fans. Must dash, my "bird" is calling me
Knox_Harrington Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Benitez's only (non Robbie Keane flavoured) bad buy over ten million is Babel. Yet elsewhere Beatstreet defends Babel. Something isn't adding up.
londonkopite Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Given that we have spent 5 years buying mainly squad players I am disappointed that our "squad" is so poor these days.

AE Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) I was thinking he was probably Babel, but then he appears too literate for a footballer or a child, or a Manc....I reckon he's an egg chaser really. Good news the season started tonight!! Edited September 4, 2009 by AE
