Help required with buying a database....

its a bit of a long shot.. but i wonder if anyone can help me.

 

A company i worked for has gone into Liquidation... I am in discussions with the Liquidator about purchasing the database that they created.

 

Does anyone know what the legal ramifications are regarding the Data Protection act?
