Champions League Squad

Does anyone know when the Champions League Squad has to be decided as I think we're going to be in a similar situation to last year in terms of having to leave an experienced player or 2 out of our 17 overseas players, who would people leave out?

Surely it'll just be like last year bar one or two changes. Aquilani for Alonso, Johnson for for a locally trained kid, Kyriakos for Arbeloa, Insua for someone

Will be interesting to see if Insua is now classed as club trained or if we have to wait till January?

We have to wait until Jan because the rules say he has to be registered with us for a period of 3 entire seasons or 36 months between the ages of 15 & 21 to qualify as locally trained & because he joined in the Jan transfer window, 36 months occurs first

think I'd agree with that, its just whether Rafa think Darby is enough cover for Johnson or whether he wants to go with Degen, if so I could potentially see Agger missing out due to fitness and him coming back in January when Insua is locally trained

UEFA's rules say you have to have 8 locally trained players in your 25-man squad irrespective of age & that a player has to be registered with his club for a period of 3 entire seasons or 36 months between the ages of 15 & 21 to qualify as locally trained

 

Insua joined in Jan 2007 so will qualify in Jan next year

I think Ayala & Plessis & Dean Bouzanis & Martin Hansen are all eligible for List B this season as well as Insua

 

Ngog & Gulacsi should be eligible for the B list from next season

 

The Guardian today reckons Man Utd have 10 players on their B List, including Anderson & Johnny Evans, giving them a total squad of 35 players for the Champions League
