badtodabone Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 thought he did ok today looks good in the air
allawee Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Too early to judge. Boss for 30 minutes, then pants after that.....4th choice in my opinion
Red Kent Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to early to judge.
abc Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Seems reasonably comfortable on the ball, always looking to pick out a pass - although he overplayed a couple which should really have been booted upfield.
fyds Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Not familiar with the system yet, not wholly match fit. Looks useful though.
downunder Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Not familiar with the system yet, not wholly match fit. Looks useful though. We knew he was slow and he proved that, but he should be a good back up.
urban Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Can be useful when it comes to attacking set pieces.
Benitez Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 'verdict'? gets earlier and earlier each season
Tommy Cockles Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 A harkback to the days of truly ugly centre halves. I like him.
richwilks Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 He's one of those players that some fans will never accept. He looked decent enough today and offered more of a threat in the opposition box than we've had for a while. He's clearly 4th choice though. He'll get plenty of abuse when things aren't going well.
Andy-oh-six Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Can be useful when it comes to attacking set pieces. Hopefully he can become as useful defending them as well.
Flight Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Foreign country, into a first team game within a week of signing. Did very well on the day. Too early to pass any long term judgement, obviously.
surf Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 He's one of those players that some fans will never accept. Ed the Wool Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Thought he looked good on a dodgy stream and the highlights.
badtodabone Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 he was always gonna be 4th choice, just thought he had a decent game today .
kop205 Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 The verdict is that it is impossible to give a verdict after 1 game. Did some ok stuff, did some not so ok stuff. I'll be happier when the known quanitities of Agger and Skrtel are fit again.
Nerik Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Will do a job, especially in such games like Bolton. The misunderstandings with Carra are very acceptable at this stage of his LFC career as it is the first time he is playing with Carra and understanding what Carra is saying takes a couple of months at least! He does seem to be a bit slow on the ball which could also be an adaptation problem but I would not like to have seen him play against a faster and more attacking team yesterday.
crisps Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Probably going to be fourth choice unless he surprises us all, however did ok for a debut against a team known for hoofs, flick ons and booting.Thinking about it, most people probably decided Skrtel was a flop after the Havant and Waterlooville game!
MFletcher Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 David Hodgson dismissed him as a 'carthorse' after the Havant game. I like to refer to this all the time, because it's evidence of making judgements on players far, far too early.
Hassony Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 rafa's signed us a scapegoat So he can rotate him with Lucas
sutty Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Thought he did well and coped with the threat of Davies all but once.
