Honest assesment based not only on tonight, but

Babel

Voronin

Lucas

have no f***ing clue how to play proper football in this league!!!

PS I know they weren't the reason we lost tonight.

he isn't getting enough money.

As a club we are divided. There's a veneer over it but a club this divided in its ambitions (repay debt vs eke the best out of a thin squad) is never going to overtake a slick outfit like Manchester United.

We might need to take to the mattresses one of these days.

Voronin should be back in Berlin. No f***ing need for him to be here. Rather see Nemeth or N'Gog play.

Lucas isn't so much a water carrier as a donkey. Sometimes he'll carry the water, sometimes he'll just s*** all over the field.

Looked poor all over the park. Aquilani needs to be something special or we will struggle.

f***s me off that we look so toothless from set pieces of our own and so vulnerable to other teams. We have no aerial presence at all.

f*** off blaming them. Gerrard was appalling. Absolutely terrible. Just like he was against Spurs. Whole team looks off the pace, inexcusable start to the season, really starting to worry about top 4 now.

Message to Rafa: go into the dressing room and kick their @rses. Every single one of them. Inexcusable result.

Have to agree - apart from Skrtel first half who was great defensively and carra 2nd half for looking like the only player who gave a s***! The other 9 starting players should hold their heads in shame!

Although Lucas was the invisible man tonight. I can never bring myself to slate an individual in a f***ing dire team performance.

We simply lack the mentality for a title win. Which makes you wonder just how much faith these lads have in the manager, or indeed what kind of mentality Rafa is instilling in them, when performances like tonight, at Anfield, have been far too regular an occurrence.

How can we gout there, play great for a few minutes, 10-15, then completely hand the initiative to Villa, without making them work for it? We bent over, as we done last season.

But of course the performances will pick up, as a last resort only though.

At least with Gerrard we know he will improve massively.

We've got no organiser in midfield. And Idon't expect Aquilani to take that role in his first season. There's no aerial presence as well which is costing us dearly.

Just like when we went through a bad patch last season there is too many looking for someone else to do the job. There is nobody can say they did themselves justice tonight. Torres and his mouth wagging is fast becoming lame

That made me laugh.

If the likes of Voronin, Babel and Lucas posed a bit more threat to the opposition these teams wouldn't be so quick to doublemark Torres and Gerrard, who were both sh!te and looked pissed off tonight. When you get that tightly marked you need someone to get the ball to you quickly when you find an inch of space and we haven't got that player.

But Gerrard (and Torres) are going to have poor games. Voro and Babo are as weak as anyone in this league and yet that's who we are having to look at for an impact. Their heads are a mess, completely lost at this level.

As much as I hate to admit this, but in games like this we really rely to much on Gerrard and Torres.

Its so easy to take our whole team out by just double marking those two.

And on the other hand I'm starting to get the feeling that Torres is never going to be like he was in his first season *cry*

If we are questioning Lucas then I think its only fair to question the partnership of Lucas with Mascherano.

Mascherano is currently more trying to distribute the play than Lucas. Lucas only plays the ball sideways.

He's the perfect neutral player in a 11 versus 11 training match. Only usefull for keeping the ball as long as possible but no threat passing forwards.

I don't know mate. I've got some time for Lucas, but why is Masch, a defensive mid-feilder able to stamp more of an authority on the game than Lucas? He doesn't go looking for the ball, and even when he's in a position to recieve it, he doesn't demand it. Where was he tongiht like? We had load of possession in front of their box, yet it was always Masch on the ball, Lucas is supposed to be the more cultured attacking threat. He was nowhere to be found.

Masch played his part for me, he's there to break up the play and then give the ball simply to the players who are better on the ball.

which is where Alonso came in last season. Before he received the ball, he'd check on Gerrard's position, and with the flick of the boot the ball would be there. Masch and Lucas need more touches and are happier to play the ball sideways or shorter. Teams then have more time to mark our 2 star players.

Villa had wide players with pace who closed down the fullbacks and made it difficult but they were still our greatest threat.

we need a striker. Desperately.

can I just say f*** off xabi, you should have stayed another season you t***, ruined our best chance to win it for a long time
