think it's more to do with signing more pacy players than anything particular that mascherano brings. but we are a really different side to watch now from when rafa arrived.

The move that nearly led to Insua scoring was very fast.

Came from the only creative thing Stoke tried all game too.

Since Mascherano's arrival, the speed with which we counter from a failed opposition corner/free kick deep into our half is frightening.

Hope to see more of it.

Pepe - Nando - Goal

Can't be any faster counter attack than that

Pepe - Dossena - Goal

Pepe - Riera - Goal

There's been a few.

"....Liverpool, hoof the ball..."

To fecking right we do when it works!!!

That's s*** though, what we should do is play pretty passes and refuse to shoot unless we've strung together 19 successive passes and have the ball less than 6 yards out.

Remember Westerveld arriving and saying he was going to start sending down his 'bombs'. Promised us goals he did. Bitter disappointment was all he delivered.

From a certain point of view he did deliver on that...

still don't get what masch does for counterattacking though

Seems to do his legsatamillionmilesanhour dribbles out in counter-attacking situations quite a lot - perhaps this?

He reminds me of Fred Flintstone.

Maybe a new Masch song to the tones of "The Flintstones"?

How do you measure the success of the tactic?

best ask the OP what he means

otherwise you're quickly in to the territory of suggesting that Carra is great for our counterattacking as he wins tackles and then we go upfield and score

Yes. I thought it was pretty obvious that's what he meant.

What the OP means seems quite clear even if his enthusiasm has rather gone up the scale.

You go to the match apparently so you are probably just being obtuse.

yes I go to the match and I don't see whether he means tackles won in midfield or scurring away with the ball and slipping a ball in for someone else to slip another ball in, for someone else to score

although you've been a bad ted today, you might be able to redeem yourself by illucidating

It was just a general observation that since he's arrived, we've started counter attacking a hell of a lot quicker.

I do remember him occasionally haring up the field after corners/free kicks against us, but I didn't mean it was because of him specifically.

I see...

'obtuse' eh? once again, form a queue to apologise to me, Ripley and the other fella

You've gone from obtuse to obscure now.

Is a queue supposed to form to apologise to you, me and some other bloke? Because that's what it says.

I don't feel anybody needs to apologise to me. Can't speak for the other fella..

What am I apologising for?

If you are assuming yourself to be "the other fella", you will be expecting an apology. Not sure from whom though.

Keep up.
