davewigan Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Johnson - I am sure 5 live referred to him as the english Cafu!BennyReina
Rimbeux Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Johnson (wow)Yossi (took a lot of the responsibility for taking the ball up from the central midfield) Ayala (Headed everything, nice and calm) special mention for Levia
David Hodgson Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 1. Johnson2. Kuyt3. Gerrard/Benayoun ...and yes, Lucas did well without ever looking like one of our best players.
chiliking Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Johnson , by God he is healing the wound Xabi gave meLucas one of his three best matches for usYossi I think Ayala did pretty good too. Not trying to do things he shouldn't do. keeping it safe.
Swipe Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 JohnsonMaschYossi/Kuyt Johnson was immense. Really think he'll do well with us. Can tear teams like Stoke apart.

Ayala did well for someone who looked like he was appearing for Liverpool courtesy of 'Jim'll fix it', but he comfortably looked the worst player on the pitch. He did very well considering just how unbelievably raw he is. God help us if he starts against Villa.
meepins Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 JohnsonKuytGerrard - for that great piece of skill otherwise it would have been Benayoun
Hassony Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 is that the same ayala who was given the runaround by arsenal in the youth cup final?
carrafan Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 (edited) Ayala did well for someone who looked like he was appearing for Liverpool courtesy of 'Jim'll fix it', but he comfortably looked the worst player on the pitch. He did very well considering just how unbelievably raw he is. God help us if he starts against Villa. I'd say that he did his job well enough and won a bit in the air. He must be a huge talent as he's still only 18. I wouldnt want players to get 1 on 1 with him but that can be said for a lot of centrehalves. He didnt do much wrong at all today and hopefully he'll kick on from here. A loan to one of the mid table championship clubs would be great for him as we've signed Kyrgiakos.
